Akatsuki no yona (ok so in the beginning she’s spoiled af bUt that only makes her character development even better. She goes from sheltered and helpless to a badass leader. love it. And it’s deeper than “finding love in high school” or whatever she’s like,,,out here fighting ppl.)

Tsubaki-chou lonely planet (the protagonist is kinda like....a grandma? cooking, cleaning, etc. she’s more mature than a cliche protagonist tho so I appreciate that.)

Tonari no kaibutsu-kun (girl doesn’t get swept up easily, focuses on her studying, etc. she’s kinda cold and not that easily swayed)

Nana (gOod.ass.manga. Actually now that I’m thinking about it she could be considered a “annoying” protagonist but whtever it’s still good.)

Takane to hana (read it a long time ago but as I remember she isn’t the typical annoying shoujo protagonist. her and the mc kinda bicker back and forth and she doesn’t fall for him that easily.)

- Nekota no koto ga...(something don’t remember full title. Plot is that this girl /who btw is like an elementary schooler/ moves schools and this one guy in her class has a cat head instead of a human head and she’s the only one who can see it. Like it bc shes spunky, she’s a leader and not afraid to speak her mind.)

- Nanairo sekai (or honestly anything by this author is beautiful)
