How the hell can you redeem this shitty character named Seungho who has not only physically and sexually abused a person how supposedly loves but threatens to cut up Nakyum's sister and feed her to the pigs? How the fuck do you redeem that?

I was going to comment (in general) that I will only start reading this again (stopped at ch. when Nakyum returned from kidnapping/rape) if things get better. I keep reading comments to judge, but yours is the one that gives an exact example as to why this is still not readable. Honestly, not sure if I will ever pick this up and that is sad. I read some of the comments here excusing the artist and saying "it's not supposed to be a lovely story". That's bullshit...people do assume this to be a romantic relationship due to the concept/promotional art and mechandise art that Byeonduck does.
Examples, the end of season 1 art (smiling with each other, enjoying Starbucks), last year winter art (Seungho and Nakyum smiling and playing with each other, Seungho biting his ear), and just recently a merry Christmas art with Seungho and Nakyum kissing with surgical mask on. There are countless other examples of this.
Lezhin has not labeled this a psychological, thriller or tragedy. People like to bring up that this is a historical piece but historical themes pertain to the time period, not solely based on the characters behavior.
So to make it as short as I can, Byeonduck is dragging this story and she's going to write a way for Seungho to be redeemed and for him and Nakyum to be together but I cannot continue to support at artist (I do by it from Lezhin) that gives their main character this much torture. How can these two be in a relationship? The amount of damage Seungho has done and continues to do with no consequence is infuriating. Sure, he can't be punished for treating a low born this way due to the time period but there is no punishment for him. Seungho hasn't been as miserable as Nakyum, we haven't seen this man suffer to the same extent. Sure, he caught a little fever, that's bullshit. He is, in my opinion completely irredeemable.
It isn't enjoyable, were 65 chapters into this story Nakyum, an innocent character is still tortured, and has had no comeuppance. Its frustrating to say the least. As a writer myself, I seem to always expect more or have high standards. The thing is, I really like season 1, (it had it's moments of stupidity, and times I scratched my head) and I was expecting great things with season 2. But, now it's straight torture that I didn't sign up for.
I heard nothing but truth! The character development is inconsistent if i may add. It shows seungho has a soft spot on nakyum from S1 but the recent chapters made a U-turn! Seungho not even show any remorse of what he did to nakyum but the suffer nakyum got is adding up. I would understand if this was tagged as psychological but it wasn't unfortunately. We don't have much info though it has been 65 chapters long. Jihwa backstory is more clear than seungho. It only took 2 chapters. If the author saves seungho backstory for as a pity card, i wouldn't be sorry for him. What he did is unforgivable.
You are so right! When I see all the poster that Lezhin gave their readers of Nakyum and Seungho laughing and holding each other, I thought they were going to get better in the second season. Then the new chapters came out and I was so disappointed with Seungho's behavior.

Plus, lots of readers think they are being more clever and insightful by saying this is not “your average romance”, “it’s a twisted, psychological fiction”. Like as if having fucked up characters in a story added some depth in a story ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Did the author forget how rational and intelligent Seungho was? Remember when Jiwha poured water on the painting and messed it up and Seungho caught Jiwha in a lie and somewhat knew that Nakyum didn't mess up the painting even in the beginning,....that it was someone else?
What happened to that Seungho? His behavior doesn't make sense and even if it did, we're on chapter 63 and we still have this rapey bullshit going on. Nakyum doesn't deserve to suffer like this does.

Seungho has been sick too, and really haven’t been around that much since he was in bed for the most part, and also he gets all crazy when he thinks Nakyum is trying to leave him.

I really disliked chapter 62 for these reasons:
1. It was extremely short. I paid for a very short chapter with like a few speech bubbles...really?
2. Nakyum is a character that keeps getting abused over and over and over. It's exhausting. He could have simply said I was kidnapped. That's it. No Name said he would kill him. YOU LIVE WITH A LORD WITH A SWORD! he can protect you...or at least tried. Why?
3. Of course Seungho is acting like his old self. Being abusive and hurt him again. Like I would have like it better if he just left him or kicked him out. Nope, he's gonna rape him
4. Honestly people are all over twitter calling out people for telling it like it is. I can't speak for anyone else but myself. I don't want smut, I want a good story. A story that makes sense and the characters are fucking stupid. Why? We're 62 chapters in. I don't know if Lezhin is telling Byeonduck to do this. But let me say this. BJ Alex, Jiwon behavior changed before 62 chapters, Love is an Illusion, Fargo had a Twitter account filled with criticism about Dojin and Hyesung relationship and it got better. It's tiring. I been spending my money just to see Nakyum, a character who doesn't deserve any of this shit, continue to be used and abused by not only Seungho but everyone. Hell, even Bum from Killing Stalking had some happy moments. Its getting ridiculous.

I agree with you. And tbh the abuse of Nakyum is over the top. Everyone gets a turn with him and all he does is cry. He could simply say I was taken and I don’t know who—and Seungho’s response is always inflicting pain on the poor boy. I hope Kim gets him out of there. I was hoping for a developing love story but do I even want him with this guy?
I feel the same way. the author is literally starving us right now, before we were getting good length chapters which is a whole meal and now the author is giving us these short snacks. I still have a little bit of faith left because I remember when the new season first started (chapter 45), a servant or whatever said it seems that seungho has a fiancee and he's in the house all the time now because he seen seughno come out his room naked carrying someone but we couldnt see their face because they were wrapped in a cover so hopefully its nakyum and they get their sh*t together.
1. You're on point. episodes are getting shorter and shorter and they mostly consist of old panels with different bubble texts. I know that the author has some health problems but I wouldn't mind waiting a bit more for a new chapter it feels like I'm paying for the same thing twice
2. I understand Nakyum not saying a word because No Name literally counted off the ways he could kill him not long ago. Seungho is once again being the biggest dumbass in the story.
3. The little development he had in the previous chapters is all down the drain. If he assaults Nakyum again, fuck him.
4. The author can do whatever they want with the story, but it's getting a little draining for me. I can't sympathize with the characters anymore and my interest in just dropping little by little.
Tbh I'm a little taken aback by some people blaming NK. Like the guy is freshly out of life threatening, traumatising experience.
It's not so surprising he is shaken up.

omg thanks for the insight! I know a lot wants something happy and fluff but these kind of authors just really did well with playing emotions of readers. As you can see we are hooked with what’s happening. We rant and rant like there are real life people. It’s a really great story which triggers us all.
Like don't get me wrong. I'm a little bit bored with the project of the character at this point, how powerless, passive he is. And even more by the abuse he faces over and over again.
But I understand why he didn't say anything.
The things i would let Seungho do to me cannot be expressed with words. The man is so fine.

Nakyum doesn't deserve any of this...I think that is what bothers me the most. Killing him because Lord Seungho fell in love with him...how shitty is that? Seungho won't ever go back to Jiwha...even if he was the last man on earth.

The translations of the recent chapters are not good, they are confusing us. Dear Door deserves better and it is making Pluto look bad. If you cannot keep the dialogue as simple and easy to understand as the original, please reconsider. aI will wait until the English version comes out. I appreciate their efforts (even though I heard the translators were not nice people), don't make the work look bad.

Though I am happy that I am able to read this. I think that we should wait for the English version to catch up. Looking at all the hard work that the author put into this, and the people translating didn't even have the gall to actually buy the korean version and went to a pirating site, makes me question their motives. Like, there is an English version, though it only has 13 chapters out right now, go and at least buy one chapter so that the people who created this so can at least make a decent living off it and go up in rank on Lezhin. Just my two cents.
