That's an obvious error and minute enough not to matter. They also kept calling Aki a he at the first part. Probably because they used a japanese neutral word for gender but the scanlator could only write 'he' or else it would have been more obvious from the start that she was not a 'he' and the back wouldn't have been as surprising as it was.

It's also not the first time the author has drawn a female looking more male, her characters always mistake some of her female characters as male because that's how she choose to draw them and to surprise people as well. Which she did here.

Please stop telling people that Aki is male because of a scanlation mistake. I've seen shoujo mangas where it's fiance instead of fiancee as well. Some people use fiance to describe both men or women nowadays. It's not uncommon.

They've also repeated multiple times that she was his girlfriend which is less ambiguous than fiance and she herself said that he looked past her masculine traits and treated her like a girl. From her reactions to Aki and even Tarou, it shows she's more feminine as well.
