I did not want to read this manga. But I have always been hesitant about if I am gonna read it. The setting is just too sad for me, it is not like I can't take it, but I really feel devastated by my own sympathy and sentiment when reading a story with dark setting like this.
But I saw this mange was rated high in a Japanese list of great BL mangas. Mangas on that list are of pretty high quality, so I may read this someday when I am ready to be depressed.

But can i just say, after it was complete and i got to re-reading it so many times, it looses it's charm. I feel like Fumi is a bit manipulative, even if he isn't trying to be. It started out fine. but after they started hitting foreplay, i HATE that he was so against being a bottom, yet was offended when his partner said the same thing. and your reaction was to get pissed at him, not be like "i understand if you need more time". that got resolved okay. But then their was also that moment of the first time they had sex and he seemed to know jack squat about the preparations. Like, you want to have gay sex, go learn all the facts for both of you. Even during sex, he was panicked and asking if he was hurt. and was clearly scared. all he tells him is, "you're fine. don't talk about another guy to me". like, you could of done so many things to make him calm down. The whole ex-girlfriend thing too. Shunpei ran into mayu, unplanned, once, and saw a few texts. she called his buddies and showed up at the school. Why is fumi so pissed about that one?? Shunpei literally did nothing to feel guilty about. Then you ignore his phone calls all day and hang out with a guy gunning for you. that's not okay. The constant "i want to do it now. not wait for you to get prepped" thing too. and the "Go pretty yourself up, but we're doing it raw"? the fuck, you know how fucked up that will make him feel? and the sex prior to that, he went at his own pace, since shunpei finally felt good, but clearly, was going even after knowing it was painful. how can one do that? To the point he is hurting the next day? and you still nag about him saying no to fingers then too. i felt like shunpei could of done better.

can someone explain to me the significance of akino starting the rumors about eichi and that woman? why did he do that? in chapter 5, i thought that the rumor would be bad for eichi since that would tarnish his image as a model..?

the ending is great and refreshing. so unexpected from kusabi-sensei who draws a lot of smutty scenes. it's so great to see another yaoi manga where the relationship between the two main characters (and sex lol) is not the only focus of the story. so happy to see eichi finally gained confidence in himself and kubo getting to the top of the industry despite his gamble.

The story was sweet and poignant and had terrific potential, but as most new writers do, a lot if the potential storylines were missed or forgotten. That is not to say that this was a bad manga. If it had been written by a hardened pro, it would have been discouraging. However, having been an early attempt at publishing, this mangaka shows tons of potential to do well in the future. Their art is beautiful and consistent and their character development for the main protagonist was well done. Unfortunately, the story and other character development fizzled out about half way through. Secondary and antagonist characters flitted in and out of the story like humming birds. This mangaka has put great effort into their art work and it shows. Now, they need to hone their storytelling skills and combine the fantastic art with a well developed story and characters. They definitely have the potential to do well as a mangaka.

I kind of really love stories about no good "aimless" people like this,
it kind of gives the feeling like "my life has been so grey up till now but suddenly I am being touched by someone", like, someone is breaking through that vicious circle of repetitive pointlessness of someone who has given up on themselves. One person giving color into an other's life. Idk it's just sweet in a sad way ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~ mangakas like Hideyoshico or Nishida Higashi also have characters like these I think

I'm sorry but i don't think you guys are getting the whole concept of the story...
First, I don't like it when women (or in this case men) use "tears as a weapon".Seems like the seme's fishing for sympathy is very much effective especially for women & the readers lol. He's cute tho! and he's such a natural that he doesn't realize he's doing it.
The uke is similar to tsundere types but he's not a tsundere. More like awkward in expressing his thoughts. He wanted to make a point to the airheaded and quite thick seme and the only way he could do it is to stage a breakup. He still loves the seme very much, and is still concerned to his well-being but at this point, the seme is too reliant of him but he wanted the seme to be more independent and think about it all on his own. But it seems like it's still a fail. Though it would benefit both if he just yell it like that at the start but well, it's not in his character and we won't be getting a two-shot if it happened...
So let's get this straightened up. Uke resorted to drastic measures in order to make the slow seme stop undermining his love. Seme make it like the uke's love is shallow but uke wanted to make a point that he loved the seme's WHOLE being and his soul NOT his outward looks. See, even yasuda, the officemates AND you the readers think so. No wonder the guy's so frustrated.
For this couple's sake, hopefully I get that across.
