Am I the only one, who has always loved yaoi, but is kinda bored with it lately? Don't get me wrong, I'm all about that man on man romance but honestly, I think it's more the fact that I'm bored with reading stories where the main plot is basically about them becoming a couple or something akin to that. I've started reading hinted shonen ai instead, or manga's with strong bromance because they have a better plot. At first I was worried that I had outgrown yaoi or something, but I definitely haven't. I'm just not into romance stories or pure smut any more. Can anyone relate? ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
I think reading too much of one thing will make you get sick of it eventually. Maybe try reading other genres?

Yeah, it happened to me. It lasted for about a year or so. I stopped reading for a bit, watched some anime and then I came across ameiro paradox. Got immediately back in lol. Sometimes it just needs a good story and some time
it happens to everybody. when that happens to me i look for other genres or read webnovels. and never force yourself to read.let yourself get back naturally to BL.
and i don't ever see the problem of wanting to read shounen ai. i mean it's the truth since shounen ai's main feature is being plot rich. i read yaoi for the smut
I've never really liked pure romance BL because most of them are simply not romantic to me. I need the characters to make progress on their own or watch them overcome problems in their relationship and most BL stories are about them being magically cured of all their problems and living happily ever after once they confess.
Every once in a while I try reading one of those stories again but I usually just end up thinking "well, that's something I read".
Which also means that I don't have that many stories to choose from. Right now I'm desperately searching for a new series I can read while it's still ongoing (I don't want to rely on fantranslations, especially not for webtoons and it has to be something that is still good even when you only read one chapter at a time which is surprisingly difficult to find).
However, I still like pure smut (real smut, not barely any plot and a sex scene every now and then), especially when the story doesn't take itself to seriously.
I also love a good bromance but I'm not a big fan of hinted BL. I usually don't ship characters, that's why those hinted pairings don't do much for me.
I have read some great manga on this site Akira written in 1982 the first cyperpunk manga put out.( Look for red cover) still one of the best. anime was done by the writer I've seen it on Ytube. Don't know if it;s still free but it was well done. It was a hit when it came out. Another action is Lady SnowBlood Strong female mc a lot of blood. revenge plot. Kill Bill like but I think the manga is better. Moon and Sandals is rated at 7.9 B.L manga If you liked Antique bakery you may like this one. Doushitemo Furtakunai by Yoneda kou An earlier work no blood or gangs but just as good. Shima and his struggles to come to terms with things pulled me in. Ice Cold Demon's Heart starts slow and picks up it's a long read but I loved the plot.
