I feel like this moved just a bit too quickly. Alex literally went from not giving a fuck to being in love in just one chapter/5 min of DG being dismissive of him. Wish we could've gotten more of Alex's thought process

Ask yourself what love really means and not infatuation, I thought mature love meant he/she cares for the person not himself.
Love belongs in an extremely broad spectrum that differs for each person. You can't really just type a sentence and claim that's what love is. Whether or not he truly loves him is something that'll show itself eventually. However, love isn't always storybook where the two partners put each other first and never make decisions that hurt the other.
