Yeah I cried a lot while reading this. It's been so long since it started and I feel it's better as one full read than being patient and reading it over the course of a few years.
That being said, WOW. THE MC...he's very relatable if you have a manipulative mother. The story is bittersweet. Although we would prefer if he ended up with his childhood sweetheart and lived a nice life, we have to accept that that's just not how it happens in real life.
It's a very realistic story. I was so happy when his mother died. What a relief. What a giant relief I imagine. He didn't have to worry about her in his life ever again. He could spend his days reading, relaxing, and living. I'm happy for him. Even if he's alone, it's better than hating who he was, and fearing his mother.
