I don't understand! I wanted to chuck my iPad across the room! That was so cruel...SPOILERS!!Ohara admitting he had feelings but saying "I gave up" and "guys can't date don't forget that." Is like shoving Kawai's feelings in his face! For a split second he had hope that his feelings were returned, that they could start something but then he had it thrown back in his face...so cruel...Ohara never gave Kawai a chance...just went and decided on his own that it's never going to work cause we are both guys it's useless so let's forget it (from what it seems so far) And not only that, but shoving the "we can be friends" card in his face after Kawai says he has feelings too and then he leaves...this guy is such a tease...this chapter kind of made me dislike Ohara. I feel like unless some sort of redemption/really good explanation happens for Ohara, Kawai deserves so much better...what is he supposed to do with those feelings now? why did Ohara confess he had feelings in the first place? To make himself feel better before he left? I hope there's a good explanation...I wanted to like this so much but all it made me feel was pain for Kawai...
What a feels bomb for the first chapter...the cover looked so happy

I dunno, I sympathize with Ohara more than Kawai. Kawai was so complacent. He went really far out of his way to be near Ohara, pretended it was a complete coincidence, and practically wrote Ohara out of his life once school and work started up. Conflicting signals there ... no, wait, there was no conflict. "Oh, shit, I didn't expect to see you here. And I'm never going to do anything with you, and I'm not going to talk to you or visit with you, even though we were such good friends before. I'm going to pretend you don't exist, and I'm going to just let you stew on the knowledge that pure coincidence put us in the same apartment building, but I'm not involving you in my life in any way." No. That gives Kawai no room to play the victim. Ohara had to make up his mind to move on, and Kawai shows up mere days before Ohara moves. Ohara's already commited to moving. He's making a clean break. His heart's been broken for months already, it wasn't a healthy "relationship" anymore, and he needs to do what's best for himself. He's had months of a broken heart to reason with himself why he can't be with the guy he loves, because the fucker behaves as though he's forgotten Ohara exists. Ohara's a tease? Screw that. Kawai's the tease. If Kawai wants Ohara he's going to have to WORK for it, not just let his feelings fall out when he's caught off balance because the guy he's neglected is finally trying to move on.

I guess I'll add that I do want them to have their happily-ever-after; people make mistakes, and righting them is part of life. But I had to give Ohara my support after seeing Kawai enjoying his memories of his time with Ohara, but admitting he's been ignoring the guy he claims he loves.

Honestly I think they both messed up in there own ways
(please correct me if I'm wrong and he did confess before and I missed a sentence, it's late at night for me)

Ohara never confessed his feelings before he gave up. Which to me is like when your friends is secretly pissed at you and they never say a thing for years and it builds up and stuff an years later they explode thinking you can read minds, and you knew it bugged them...
Though he did show signs kawai a bit dense it seems. And the whole "guys can't date" puts him on my bad side.

But I'll try not to be bias for a bit cause kawai did go pretty far with the whole moving thing.

@Ara Ata I totally agree with you, with both comments :)

I also agree with Ara Ara.
It is really hard to be ignored like this. I mean kawai lived next door to ohara, but he was totally ignored. It is easier to move on than staying in pain like this. And i can understand why he wants some distance between them. He can't trust kawai like before.

Yes, Ohara could have confessed. Except that Kawai left Ohara without an opportunity to do so. Was Ohara supposed to confess to the wall? In a text, to the guy who's been running away? Seriously, Kawai took all of their possibilities, stuffed them in a box, and then dug a hole to bury that box until Kawai, and Kawai alone, was ready to deal with things.
I would consider the "Guys can't date," line to be part of the internal reasoning Ohara tried to convince himself of in order to get over how aggressively Kawai neglected their friendship. He obviously doesn't believe it - he's totally willing to get romantic with Kawai -- but Kawai (as of chapter 2) needs to finally put forth some actual effort. (we lie to ourselves about all sorts of shit, but the lies we tell ourselves to help ourselves heal can be worth while if we're able to be honest about everything later)
