People on here acting like manga is real life, these aren’t real people so stop acting like they are. This might happen in real life somewhere in the world but we aren’t read something real, so stop giving it real feelings. If you happen upon this in real life go make your opinion known then. Your opinion on fake people really doesn’t matter.

I think not being able to "give real feelings" towards a fictional work is either because of a reader's preferences or failure on the author's part. Cause for me, the ultimate goal of fiction is to let everybody be immersed in the story as if it's real. Being able to detach yourself from it kind of takes away the enjoyment of reading it. Of course you don't have to treat as if it's really real and must know how it separates from reality. You can be absorbed WHILE reading it and make reactions afterwards but of course you can also move on from it after even when doing so. Being able to feel something strong from a fictional work isn't really a wrong thing. Putting it in the real world's context does give realizations and ideas, directly or indirectly, in some way or another.
Manga isn’t real life people. Stop trying to make a fictional story something it’s not.
