The novel is a fkin roller coaster - based on the spoilers from the lovelies on the NovelUpdate Forums, I was able to piece together a coherent plot for this promo...

This story is much darker in the original compared to waht we’re seeing in the promo. It contains a lot of abuse, trauma, and death as well as an exploration into emotions.Thankfully, it is a happy ending (the main characters) and showed that villains do get their own happy ending.

Characters to note:
Original Heroine: the princess of the empire and in the reincarnated story plot, she didn’t play a major role.
The MC: the daughter of the nanny in the duke’s mansion who is reincarnated and has a romantic relationship with the white haired brother.
White Hair Brother: the most focused on revenge and sort of the aggressive and strong ML. From young, he has a very tsundere attitude towards the MC but is very protective of all of them.
Blue haired brother: the more passive brother of the two that loses an eye during the time they spent at the tower due to him getting beaten and one eye getting beat by one of the relatives that locked them up. Eventually takes the title of duke while the other two seeks revenge.
Blue haired sister: unfortunately while she died young (in both plots) due to malnutrition, high fever, amongst a ton of other abuses, she ends up becoming the catalyst for why the siblings are so insistent on revenge and all that. There is a point in the story where after the siblings get their revenge, the daughter of one of the relatives that locked them up is spared. When she asks why (this is after she found out the reason why they were taking revenge), the MC replies along the lines of how it’s because she looks like their dead sibling, and now that she knows why they did it, the MC wants the daughter to think back on how her face is similar to the little girl her father killed.
Second prince: the villain in the reincarnated plot who likes the MC but is actually kinda dumb, one of the biggest reasons he was eventually defeated in the end was due to his involvement in the murder of the empress.
Crown prince: also liked the MC - part of the reason he later helps the siblings take revenge. Oh but I’m pretty sure he was also the one that ended up getting the siblings out earlier then in the original plot. This was cs he saw the MC from a distance once and sort of informed the king who was able to send knights over.

The original story was told from the perspective of the Heroine so the readers (including the MC) was never able to find out why the villains were so twisted, however, MC realised that the reason why they all became villains in the end was due to them being locked up in the clock tower. Their meals everyday was the same and over the 2 years that they were locked up, they were being neglected more and more. And no one ever came to look for them because the relatives had told others that the siblings all went abroad to study.

Their escape from the tower: the beating of the blue haired brother and sister all occurred closely with each other, which is what spurred the siblings to plan their escape. They planned to get out throw the mirror door which their meals were sent in from by a butler. The butler comes in as usual and is strangled by the siblings so they’re able to come out. As soon as they do, they’re found by a group of knights who was sent by the king to find them. With this, the siblings are able to try getting the help that they needed, while the blue haired brother is able to partially save his eye - which gives the MC hope for her sister to remain alive this time around - she does ultimately die. It leads to a realisation that she isn’t the main character and that villains don’t get a fairy tale ending. Unfortunately, the relatives were only sent back to the countryside and the king asked the others not to spread the word. One of the reasons was not the destroy the reputation of the serpentine family but also to not give any other nobles ideas.

The revenge: the second prince is sort of how the siblings were able to get revenge so well. He’s extremely rash, poisoned the MC in the past but likes her now, and killed the empress. Becuase of his love for the MC, she allows me to think that she’s being abused by the ML (they’re engaged or married by this point cs they’re not actual siblings), becomes a spy for the serpentine family, finds out about the secret organisation who was the catalyst for most of the horrible stuff the main characters endured. The organisation in question is called Fibonacci(?) and I can’t remember exactly what it is that they did, but they were responsible for the locking up of the siblings (because the relatives were also involved in the organisation) and the murder of the empress. The second prince and fibonacci is taken down and all of the relatives and second prince is exiled again. In order to prevent them from retailiating in the future, the ML and a bunch of others go to kill them so they all end up dying either way.

Ending: the brother that lost an eye becomes the duke of the serpentine family and is engaged to a girl who although doesn’t know what happened to the siblings in the past, is very supportive and nice towards all of them. The MC and ML get married and have two kids. and I’m not sure what happened to the Crown Peicne.

There’s a ton of other spoilers that I can’t think up of from the top of my head cs it’s like 2am right now but if you go to google and search up ‘A fairy tale for villains spoiler’ and click on the forum on novel updates you’ll be able to find plenty I wasn’t able to mention here.

Happy to know the white haired boy is the ml! Since the scene in the novel where him and the mc was together was too cute I'd be sad if he was the second ml

I read a ton of spoilers for this cs I was impatient and all I gotta say... this misunderstanding isn’t gonna get resolved anytime soon TT

Well there’s not that much spoilers but from my general idea apparently the ML was completely manipulated by the emperor and sister to the point where he had huge trust issues towards the MC and the MC was completely clueless on why and there’s a ton of chapters that just describe how desperately infatuated the MC is for the ML.
- there’s one scene where the MC is wondering why the ML isn’t visiting him and some attendant doesn’t have the heart to tell him it’s because the ML doesn’t want to so he says that he’ll only visit if the MC hand writes a huge set of books non-stop. The MC does then and then waits outside for days on end hoping for the ML to show up.
- another scene depicts the MC trying to apply makeup because he thinks that it’ll make the ML more attracted to him TT

I’m not listing these spoilers in chronological order but the emperor and sister schemes to send the ML a prostitute to replace the MC and it sort of works into really breaking the will of the MC down. The prostitute (it’s a derogatory name but dw he’s actually pretty decent in the novels I think after a few bad scenes) takes all of the MC’s expensive belongings and sort of brags about how he’s fresher and newer then the MC. Blah blah blah the MC is sent away to the brothel where the prostitute came from and is protected by the prostitute (I’ll change his name to mistress actually) so that he doesn’t have to serve any men. The ML eventually tries to come and get the MC (?) but blah blah blah MC is sick and tired of the ML’s two-faced ways and asks for his mother who was a servant that was kidnapped and stuff. Cues more misunderstandings cs the mother ends up dying is ML is there at the wrong place and time cs he’s looming over the mother with a bloody sword and MC thinks he killed her - he didn’t but he might as well have considering how much of an ass he is.
There’s a ton of angst in between but the ML married the princess in order to make the MC jealous but the MC Is like ‘congratulations’ and smiles, returning the jade pendant the the ML once gave him.

The princess makes a deal with the MC to leave and the MC agreed under the guise of recuperating from some illness - ML agrees but turns out he just ended up moving with the MC to a small farmhouse cs the MC couldn’t bring any servants.

Somewhere along this huge text of spoilers I wrote is a scene where the MC was severely poisoned by the princess. The ML wants to make the MC indebted to him by giving him the antidote but the MC also ends up drinking a Romeo and Juliet type of poison where he appears dead but comes back to life. MC can now speak but is stuck in a ‘I love him but I also hate him’ situation with the ML.

Overall, I hate long mangas or webtoons of any kind because everything I wrote just now COULDVE BEEN AVOIDED, if they talked :D.

Alright so many of you might’ve already known already but this manhwa was originally a novel, so there are a ton of spoilers that I got from a forum which I’m hoping to share with you, just as a warning, this will contain both minor and HUGE HUGE spoilers...

In the original story (the one with the original Penelope), the original heroine was actually a part of a cult who worshiped a dark goddess that sucked the life out of innocents souls. With those powers, she was able to attract all of the love interests and Penelope was killed in the original for speaking out about the true nature of the heroine. In the end, the only one who realised the truth was the magician who broke free of the heroine’s grasps and reversed time after he regretted falling in love with the heroine and causing the worlds destruction.

Now so far in the manhwa we have the upcoming hunting competition. Penelope will attend it and meet the prince again (who’s the love interest), she’ll say smthn about how she’s no longer in love with him but that only works in ensuring he’s even more interested in her. Turns out the prince is a really sweet guy, Penelope just happened to stumble upon him in the WORST timing possible.

During the competition, some assassins attempted to kill the prince but Penelope was able to fight them off with her magic crossbow. Eventually they end up being outnumbered and the prince is stabbed with a poisoned dagger i think. They fall off a cliff where they’ll find a cave to reside in and during that time they’ll get closer with one another. Penelope finds a magic map that teleports them away but due to the prince’s sickly state, everyone assumes she tried assassinating the prince and take her away.

The duke and pink haired brother were the only ones that believed in her innocence but they didn’t help her either way, and the other brother was fully convinced she was the one that tried killing the prince. He even comes in her prison cell not to ask for her side of the story or what happened, but whether or not she did it. Penelope knows that it’s useless defending herself against him and just said that he was free to believe whatever he wanted to believe. The prince isn’t able to defend her because he’s in a coma and Penelope ended up winning in her own trial WITHOUT any help. The dark haired brother attempted to apologise to her after the trial but I think it was then that the relationship between the two would be severely complicated and Penelope had no intentions of getting along with him.

I’m not too sure when it happened but eclipse is one of the most tragic characters in the story for me. I’m pretty sure he was one of the ones that betrayed Penelope the most in the past life but he was so in love with her that he locked himself in his room for 3 days straight after seeing her smiling and talking with the prince. Note that the way he saw it was because he wanted to give her handpicked flowers. In the end, he died saving Penelope from a dragon or monster during a fight with the heroine. A lot of readers consider his death to be a salvation because he couldn’t handle seeing her with anyone else. He even said it himself after defending her from the dragon.

Now for her original life, it turns out that her brothers and father all cared deeply about her and the misunderstanding was all resolved in the end. She sees that her original body is lying in a hospital from stomach cancer with her brothers accompanying her by her bedside and her father who called for all the best doctors from America. She ended up staying in the game world with the prince though.

This is a comment by @adyaa on NovelUpdates: “ I think the complexities of the prince and all other MLs with the insecurity of Penelope and her past life are the main highlight . The game heroine was always “evil” . She banished Penelope even then because she was immature . There is lot more to the plot than it seems . You can’t judge it by mere actions and in a singular sense . The intricacies add greatly to the reading experience.”

There are a whole lot more from the favourbility meter to all the schemes of the heroine but it’s just too much for me to write down, the forum for all the spoilers is on this website: https://forum.novelupdates.com/threads/death-is-the-only-ending-for-the-villain.97486/

Honestly I haven’t been keeping up as much as I would’ve liked but this chapter redeemed the manhwa for me! Only been like 70 chapters and there’s some good progress between the two! Hoping that this doesn’t become a slow burn romance ><

The disciple was originally someone of low blood who came to the palace in hopes of becoming a musician, he was frequently bullied by the others but one day was saved by the master of the music wing.

Because of the master, he’s able to be protected under his guidance and eventually attracts the attention of the princess. The master also notices this and during one private session, sends the disciple out which incurs the wrath of the princess.

Later on, the master is framed for drawing erotic paintings of the princess and the disciple rushes in after hearing the news. The master is hopeful that the disciple will help him as he had ‘helped’ the disciple all those years ago.

Instead of protecting him, the disciple adds more fuel to the fire and ensures that the master can’t go off untouched. It turns out that all the bullying the disciple endured was Because of the master who disliked the disciple - he thought he was too unruly and acted too noble for a country bumpkin, even going as far as to damage his hands so the disciple would be endebted to him.

I think it was the princess that exposed the master to the disciple because she was drawn smiling as if she knew what would happen. Thus allowing the disciple to take revenge on the master for crippling his hands all those years before.

In the end scene, we see the princess coming in some chamber with a near naked disciple with whip marks. The disciple prolly kneels alone in the chamber all day and therefore can’t escape from the princess, though the reason why is smthn I don’t get.

Oh i think they're in THAT type of sexual relationship. To summarize your entire explanation in a few sentence: Student is bullied and tortured by other students using a finger twisty crushed given by the teacher and on his orders. Teacher pretends to save student to make student HIS STUDENT because teacher knows that student has more potential than him. Teacher wants to use student's gratefulness to ensure a high and proper freeloading life. Student finds out about the teacher's schemes through some unknown way. Student takes revenge using the same method, and as i said before in my last 2 comments, turning his fingers into munchy looking yummies that i want to bite off for some unknown and insane reason.

The demon male sneaks into the heroine’s room and when the male lead finds out, the male lead and demon start fighting with each other. The heroine defends the demon and by the end when the demon teleports away, the male lead is like ‘don’t ever call me master again’ and leaves the heroine. Later on the heroine is also exiled by the sect and runs away to be with the demon. The demon is killed later on and the heroine is left in despair.

The male lead and Su Luxia bond and become comrades but one day, the male lead confessed to her and reveals about his goal for power. He starts saying how everyone in the world was like marionettes controlled by the heavens and it’s revealed that he had even spied on her when she was talking to her system. Su Luxia feigns ignorance but the male lead kisses her and continues to say ‘even if you’re a demon or monster, I still love you.’ She commits suicide and the male lead becomes almost insane. Preserving her body in ice and coming back continuously asking her to wake up. The heroine also turned back into an old lady cause she lost all her cultivation.

Su Luxia has failed her mission and is revealed that because the male lead became so powerful, he also gained awareness

BAM! Next Arc: A modern world combined with a spiritual one.
This world is actually more of a friendship one and doesn’t focus on any scum males.
-
-
The female lead this time is a narcissistic woman: she walked home one day and was catcalled by an ugly scum dude, she refuses and even insults him, causing the dude to come back and pour acid all over her - permanently disfiguring her. She came back as a ghost but was defeated once again by a female spiritual master and swears revenge on the scum male.

Su luxia is able to quickly defeat the scum male but when she heads back to the system, her final score is a B - unacceptable.

That female spiritual master turns out to be what Su Luxia needs in order to achieve an S score and so she comes back as another type of ghost and they develop a bond with each other - the bond of friendship.

Hah... I mean the mc’s reasonings aren’t bad but how’s anyone not supposed to misunderstand, mc’s still a bit of an ass for not letting the mc explain. But. I suppose that’s what happens with these mangas, you fix everything with some good ol f*king

Pyonhyeii February 21, 2020 10:47 am

The cover photo is click bait T-T
Not that sorry but the art for this isn’t done well, the main characters don’t even look like they’re the focus point of the story and the plot is so badly done - do these publishers not realise we just want something with GOOD cliche drama? Oh noooo you’re a scheming hoe with money that’s pinning after the male lead, can they not be subtle with what they want to do?I’m not sure if it’s the translators or the originals fault but this plot and flow sounds like an initial draft with not revising or editing.

I think the problem is that as there are plenty good chinese manga artstyles, most of them are still bad....but i have quite a handful where i like the artstyle, like
    Your cat ears are showing(adorable),
Meng shi zhai shang(mc is especially cute),
    Three months to live,
    Cute princess strikes(the panda esp),
    Modern wizard hunting projects,
    Paranoid love(girls mostly),
She may not be cute(absolutely one of my fav art in webtoons ever, they are beautifully drawn i have so many screenshots),
She is still cute today(also one of my favs ),
Southern bird and northern bird(i am in love with the way birbs are drawn),
    Soul contract,
    The grandmaster of demonic cultivation,
The wolf picked something up(same as birbs, adorable, will melt hearts),
    My bodyguard is 4'2,
Whale ears(will cry over how much i love the artstyle)

AHHHH I hate reading this and just knowing what’s really happening with everything that I almost regret reading the spoilers. I have such complicated feelings for Jeanette, she’s not innocent but she’s also not the most guilty but I just don’t really like her; I’ve realised I don’t really like female characters in general but I can’t wait for Claude to find out about everything! ><

    Muahahahaha February 10, 2020 12:28 pm

... mind sharing more? How exactly does Claude find out the truth??

Ah frick I did it again; I don’t remember exactly so forgive me if it’s not too accurate. I’ve also read some fan fictions and my information is all muddled up but the general backstory is:

The Claude-lookalike is claudes brother that he overthrew in his earlier years in order to become king, and he’s returned now to take revenge. In the original story (where the mc was killed), Claude started having intensive headaches and it wasn’t long before he realised that the source of his headaches were coming from Jeanette, but because of his love for Jeanette, couldn’t bear to part from her and therefore kept this information secret. During one night when the headache was really severe, Claude died and the Claude-lookalike stepped in to expose everything; he became Claude’s replacement and threatened/blackmailed Jeanette into compromising with him.

Jeanette is the result of some black magic (so she wasn’t even naturally conceived) and as a result, the more time she spends with Claude, the more infected he’ll get - which was part of Claude-lookalike plans.

Jeanette also apparently realised that Athy was not favoured simply because she existed and felt really guilty for it in the original storyline. so she did some dark magic with someone(?) for athy to have a happier ending. But the results again are that her presence causes great pain for the two blonde royals.

Summary for why I have complicated feelings for Jeanette: she’s the one that helped Athy to have a new life but she’s also the one ruining it because of her appearance :D
