Hi there guys well I live in the UK and was thinking of cosplaying for the MCM convention which will held in Manchester this july. The problem is I don't who to go as, I was thinking of Allen Walker from D-Gray Man but there weren't many cosplayers last year for the anime or manga. I was thinking of either Shiro from K-Series or Nai from Karneval. Then again I was thinking of going as either Masaomi from DURARARA or Misaki from Junjou Romantica. I'm a girl and short by the way and the reason I pick boy characters to cosplay is because I no confidence in myself to go as girl plus I hate wearing skirts and dress's. So to all you UK people out there please help.....................!
I've cosplayed at the con for the last 2 years and well no one noticed me or even knew who I was which bummed me out. I could really use some advice please
go as Izaya from Durara :))
i feel like if you go as misaki or masaomi people won't really recognize you unless you have someone else who cosplays with you as another character in the series. I feel its the same for shirt and nai. If you want to get recognized izaya would be good. d-gray man has been on hiatus for a long time so not many people would want to dress up as it. Some cosplay that would get immediately recognized are mainstream shonen and sports anime. if you want kaneki from tokyo ghoul might suit your petite image and he's easily noticeable from the hair and mask.
Well I would have to dye my hair black for Izaya because I don't like wearing wigs. Yeah got put off wigs when I was little, had to wear this really horrid itchy and smelly wig for a school play which cause me to get a rash so since then I've hated wigs. So when I cosplay I dye my hair for that character
I've never heard of this character before, I look into it. Thanks for the advice ^^
You can get temporary hair colours that work well. Especially if they are hair sprays. I am blonde and did my hair red to play Scully from X-Files one Hallowe'en with my best friend playing Mulder, and I have to say that it was so much fun. At first it took people a few minutes to get who we were as our fake FBI badges looked too real, but when they got it we got so many responses. Make sure that the colour you get is a temporary rinse though, some say temporary colour but can take weeks to wash out as they can stain lighter coloured hair.
You should go as Honey-senpai since you're short. It plays to your advantage.

Okay guys what's your new years resolution for 2015?
Mine is to complete my art projects and fanfictions for DevianArt. I got behind this year due to family problems. So I'm hoping I'll have better luck with the new year , also I'm gona try and not get too depressed over my art work.

Travel to many places and have more fun!
I always expect too many things but I will try to live and not to exist, to be more friendly and to read more mangas !
Graduate from college and take a trip to Italy! Also I hope to be a calmer person able to reflect on my actions and more importantly, not so judgmental of others.
