i think people just liked the "ending" because they're a tachibana x ono shipper which is kinda shallow. im surprised only a few ever touched on how it's very sad that chikage is still living on his shadows and is a replacement until the end. it never showed ono being willing to change those feelings for chikage himself but instead him just wanting to bury his feelings for tachibana so he's using chikage as a cover. there was effort, but it was for the wrong reason. it's sad tbh and if it goes on like this i just hope they'd just break it off and find others to love. i know the whole point of this is chikage is the one who tried to understand him the most right now but it's very toxic when ono himself just puts effort into burying the feelings and not loving chikage himself. idk if im making sense but basically i have an issue about ono's prime reason why he goes to chikage.
I used to get so mad at Ono while reading this years ago, but re-reading this now, I can actually understand him and feel bad for him. I guess that means I've matured lol.
i love the stories and all but like,, y’all,, this was an amazing depiction of actual homosexuality instead of the uwu gay bbys yaoi mangas usually go to. it focuses a lot on being gay in japan and i think it did great in depicting this. from the fear that after a certain age no one will want you,, to being hated by others in the community because you’re effeminate,, these are all things talked about when discussing homosexuality in japan. shits gr8 and that’s on periodt.
i really hate this, ono got hurt then when finally finding something comfortable *his relation with that old glasses* he's hurt by the fact that such relation is effecting the wife, he felt guilty, not wanting love anymore, and boom he's hurt even more ppl ... cheating and becoming toxic... to finally being told that he wants to protect a sand castle... but that's mid right, all i see is tachi actually reacting physically ,yet for some reason pulls away http://i6.mangapicgallery.com/r/newpiclink/antique_bakery_dj/7/75be9e86600dea8ece3e9d5c34d0e88d.jpeg , seems he's the one whom seeks protection to this sand castle, then they go in circles when they don't understand each other's reasons *don't mistake me, they understand the situation and each other's logical action* , well, there have a story with two ppl , one who loved without understanding and one who hated... also i really neeeeeeeeeeedddd to know what brings nightmares to tachi, i hate that he keeps himself shut while being kind to others... that's the ultimate rejection... so give me a good reason author... he mentioned something like being left but he's the one leaving them behind, to the point that he made a shop that he's not even passionate about...
