Why is Ten Count so popular?
Ok, I don't want to offend anyone. Please don't be rude to me (fangirls can be really aggressive so) I'm just genuinely curious. Is it popular because of the smut scenes?? Because it doesn't really seem to have anything besides that. I forced myself to read up to chapter 19 (the buttplug scene) I just couldn't take it. Chap 19 page 29 did you see what kurose said, it seems like obsession or something WTF. The buttplug scene was hot but it just looked so emotionless. Actually all smut scenes seem emotionless. Their whole relationship seems to be based on sex. I don't see any feelings, I can't bring myself to read it any further. Shirotani is so fragile (well mysophobia and all, I understand) but kurose is so fucking emotionless, he's like a fucking sociopath. He's always forcing shirotani into doing sexual stuff. What the hell?? Ok I know that a lot of yaoi has seme raping uke but this is just ridiculous. Its all about smut smut smut. SO I want to know, why is it popular? Why do you like it? Also please dont be offended. I saw in the comments anyone who says they dont like ten count, there are like a 100 other people attacking the innocent person who voiced his/her opinion. Also I dropped it after the buttplug scene because I figured I would rather go watch gay porn on redtube (and I did) so dont tell me to "dont like, dont read" Also sorry for my english. I'm not a native speaker.
Ten count was promising at the beginning but when it got popular the author seems to have decided to turn in into some cheap smut or something, which is such a waste. reply
First I'll start by saying...I don't understand these questions. Obviously it has something that readers/fans love, whether it appeases to you or not. People have different tastes. (I for one don't care much for Killing Stalking but I can definitely see why others are fascinated by it).
Secondly, I don't particularly like Ten Count (anymore) but I ...... 2 reply
I'm interested in the psychological elements it has, (especially in the more recent chapters with the reasoning behind their respective issues), find the drawing style overall appealing, and, I will admit, enjoy some of the smut (not all of it though, a fair amount is too overdone.) I also had the advantage of reading it when there were a lot of ch...... 2 reply
I was sadly disappointed with this one. I love psychological stories in general, and was hopeful this would hold up to the hype. But it was just so cliche in terms of the relationship that any good parts of the narrative in relation to the mental illness just couldnt make up for it.
The art is ok (really nothing special in my opinion. If it were m...... reply
I think the reason why Ten Count was so popular in the beginning had to do with the mangaka's previous works. When Seven Days and Hana no Mizo Shiru came out they were really popular and at the time really good. In my opinion, I think they're still good considering how BL has changed over the years. It makes sense that people would embrace her w...... 3 reply
Yeah, I totally get you. It's such a shame that this manga turned out like this, because it was so cute at first.
The worst part is that one of my favorite yaois is from the same author (it's called hana no mizo shiru, if you haven't read it you should), so I had high hopes for this one too :(
As the manga got popular, maybe sensei got pressured to...... reply
Ten Count isn't my favourite manga but I enjoy it. It isn't just sex. Otherwise Rihito would have added sex scenes in the first couple chapters. They didn't start doing sexual acts until chapter 9/10 I think. It's most likely popular cause of the mysophobia and the psychological themes as well as the sex. I see the feelings and bonding between Kuro...... 2 reply
I haven't read ten count for awhile so this might not be up to date. But what I like about ten count would be that there's a mental illness involved, and a cause or reasons to it.
Next, you might not like Kurose because he seems emotionless, maybe his face does look so, but I can say he's not. He's full of emotions, this story is so intense to m...... reply
I don't want to be rude but... You really didn't understand at all the plot.
The psychological weight is heavy in this one, and shows a really distorted relationship wich in some way, start to grow to a healthy one little by little due the love they found in each other.
Is complicated, is twisted and It's clearly wrong. This is not the usual story...... 2 reply
Well ehm ehm
First of all let me just start by saying that ten count is one of my favorites...
The plot is just different from any love story I've read so far....and i DO NOT agree with people who say its just about sex!! Kurose is very very VERY considering of shirotani's feelings and if not he wouldn't help him with his mysophobia and just raped ...... 3 reply
