Genre Tags
Hi guys I just want to share my preference and hopefully know your preference as well.
Okay, so there are a lot of genre tag in mangas/hwas/huas. But i know there are certain type of genre every readers hesitate before reading them so heres mine: There are only 2 types of genre tags that I would hesitate if either I will read it or not. 1st is TRAGEDY my fragile heart won't be able to take sad endings 2nd is YAOI while tag as SHOUJO, I'm sure you already encountered this stories where it is tagged as Yaoi at the same time it is tagged as Shoujo. I really hesitate reading them since I kinda sway on who should I ship with whom and mostly or always my Fujoshi heart wins and when the guy decides to take the girls side my heart always break into pieces.
How about you what genres do you hesitate when reading?
#1 HORROR/GORE - cuz the scenes get stuck in my head and my imagination runs wild so I can't sleep at night if I watch/read it.
#2 HAREM/REVERSE HAREM - the guy is usually perverted and I hate how the girls act just to get the guy to notice them, either they look desperate or they're too clingy. In reverse harems I don't like how the girl look so ...... reply
tags I'm always avoiding in a yaoi manga:
[1] tragedy = i hate it when one of the main character dies, because it greatly affects my fragile heart. i really hate it;
[2] bara = i don't like steroid type muscles;
[3] gang bang
[4] gender bender
not a tag but i hate it too: unfinished work. reply
shota: makes my stomach upset and I want to throw up! I mean that literally...
Shoujo: in a BL manga is plain wrong, I can't even comprehend it.

All the other depends on my mood. Like if I want to cry I will read tragedy. reply
SHOUJO. I used to like them when I was elementary grader but now I am growing past it and become too selective on this genre. I don't like crappy romance scene, plain and badly written characteristic but strangely popular girl who has her own harem, and cliche popular guy, some of them were even dare to touch LGBT issue, but still HETERO wins and ...... reply
For me it's Ecchi and Harem. Many of those have a nice drawing style I really like, but most of the time I get really frustrated with the male protagonist (or female one in some cases) As I'm mostly the type to jump on a Manga or Anime because I like the drawing style of the cover I'm presented with I'm often frustrated when I see that it is in fac...... reply
Tragedy - Although I generally like dark and twisted stories, I just don't tolerate heart-wrenching endings. After all, I'm reading mangas to lift up my mood, not to make myself depressed...
Shoujo - I usually avoid this genre, as it's hard to find a female lead that suits my preferences (a lot of them are either too naive and indecisive or plainly...... 1 reply
