Hell no my parents would take my phone and laptop away or even cut the Internet if they did. They're not homophobic but they're super strict and old-fashioned, so sex is like a taboo topic to talk about in my family. I think they'll be ok with shounen ai, but not yaoi (because of the explicit sex scenes).

I'm pretty sure my parents know about it, even though perhaps they don't precisely know the term "yaoi". I leave yaoi around the house very often or I talk about them with my sister: I think they know that we read manga with homosexual love stories or that we ship people of the same sex. No one in my family knows and I prefer it that way. It's not like they're conservative or extreme religious, they're open minded people. But I'd find it very weird.

My mother knows that I read yaoi and doesn't care about it, we've sometimes talked about it. I think my brother does know that I read yaoi since I like yaoi stuff on fb (meaning all people on my fb friends list knows it lol) but we never talked openly about it like there's no need. I'm a gay lady, and I really just love gay manga, yuri and yaoi(though I pretty much only read yuri that's written by women)
Anyway, I think my mom actually knew that I liked gay romance before she knew I was gay. I just don't think she knew how explicit the things I was reading were.
