Really starting to get tired of anime and manga

Bloody Sparrow Bloody Sparrow 2016-09-28 13:01:15 About tired of anime and manga
As I get older , I really start to get tired of Anime and Manga . No offense , I really still like quite a few manga (like Houseki no Kuni) but I've become really picky and I completely stopped watching Anime .
* The reasons are similar themes , characters , plots ,... I feel so old just by reading and watching them . It's like there's nothing new to see . . It's gotten to the point that I can predict what will happen in every scene and chapter (or episode) . Both newer anime and manga are getting too predictable . It's not even fun to read and watch anymore . Like all the mangakas have one package of characters they like with same personalities but different looks and clothes (but even clothes are same in one aspect , if we talk about girls , they all wear too revealing dresses and shirts or whatever , or they just wear underwear with open coat)
* Another reason is FANSERVICE . Don't get me wrong , I'm Fujoshi , a hardcore one , but sometimes I want deep stories without screaming , blushing , half-naked , big-boobed girls that seem like spice in every soup (is that how this saying goes like in eng? we have similar in my own language so I'm not sure...) They are all raging tsunderes or regular bitches , and those emotionless ones are like closet perverts who can say F*** me Nii-chan or smt like that with straight face .
Girls are looked down by creators of anime(actually how do you call them? is there a proper name?) and mangaka . Almost none of them have deep personality , it's like their sole purpose is to be hot honey-chans .
Let's not talk about boys . Almost all of them are perverts in some way , they always have some kind of fetish (thighs or socks of some kind) . And they all use girl's boobs as airbags to save their life as they elegantly fall . They also have to squeeze them , just to make sure what is this 'strange' sensation . Oh , and they also live with several hot girls , have a personal hot stalker , hot childhood friend , hot mom , hot younger sis , hot older sis , hot teacher and all of them would give away everything they have to be with that perv- , er , boy (or man , just to be fair , but most of them are highschoolers) . And most of them are like : YOU CAN ALL SHARE ME or I'M TOO AWESOME FOR YOU or I AM OTAKU , I HAVE MY MIKU MIKU . Or they only care 'bout power or revenge .
* Also when I finally find the manga I like , there are 2 reasons that I immediately drop them :
1 Too much blood (seriously , it's like one person bleeds for ten)
2 Too much sudden deaths (er , I can't get into a story if deuteragonist , villain , side characters , whale , cute hamster , regular bitch , plane , dino , cat , dog , Enrique Iglesias , vampire , alien and 300 faceless people die in 1st chapter..)
Really , I'm not Haemophiliac , I'm emotional person who feels sorry for the characters who die . I don't find deaths epic . Just sad . It's the end of someone's story , hopes , dreams ... Really it's just sad .
So to summarise , I want to see more psychological manga , or fantasy ones (without fanservice) , comedies (again fanservice) , slice of life manga and I want to see something NEW and FRESH , without all cliches that all anime and manga seem to be full of .

something like this (=・ω・=)

I dont know if this helps but I would recommend an anime like "A silent voice." Yes this anime is sad and made me cry a bunch but nobody dies. The anime is pretty sad because it tackles topics like depression, suicide, and bullying but that's also what makes it really good. I dont know if there's another anime out there but "A Silent Voice" is amazing. I also would recommend older anime like grave of the fireflies, Spirited away, the garden of worlds, and violet Evergarden. (Sorry I listed a bunch of sad anime) I know you wrote this post a long time ago but I just wanted to share some anime that are super good and will tug on your heartstrings a little

Aye girl. Leave this to me. Did you read harada's work? So psychological. And it's mostly hardcover so I think you'll enjoy it

The Promised Neverland - around 20 chapters out so far, feels very cliche-free, and plenty of psychological/thriller aspects. No ridiculous blood, no copy-paste characters, no fanservice. Just a damn good time.

I might as well try it ! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

Hahahah, I laughed with point 2, poor Enrique xD
Sadly I am in the same boat... And I became really picky with the stories I want to see or read. Lately I stopped seeing anime bc I don't have the same amount of time and I don't want to lose it with useless shit full of stupid plots, though you can find some good things once in a while.
That's why I always come back to watch and read the classics... They never get old and are as good as ever xD

Some times I feel that way after reading so many manga and watching so many anime I like they are all same but still I wat/read coz to find the jewels that r hidden n remember them well

I wholeheartedly agree with you. I just cannot watch anime anymore and fan-service is a complete turnoff. And the recycled manga plots never seem to go away (╬ ̄皿 ̄) it's really annoying? It's not hard for me to start a manga but really hard for me to finish (unless it doesn't have a lot of chapters). Oh and what's the manga you posted a scan of?
I recently started watching 91 days it's pretty good I recommend it.

Well, you must search for the good ones! Problem solved. I watch only one or two anime every season. The best I have seen lately was Mob Psycho 100. Creative, funny, smart, action, no fanservice. I also enjoy Haikyuu and I'm really not into sports anime.

I'm currently in the same situation. So when i'm chosing an anime to watch in a list on website ( like kissanime ) i'm not even reading the summary of any anime with girls and boobs, since I already know what will happen: a stupid and really dumb guy who can't find a gf even though he's surrounded by hotties, and it is even worse when it's fantaisy anime-_-' I mean if he was in a yaoi he'd be those kind of naive uke that we wish he'd be f**cking raped...sorry but I just come to devellop a really strong hattred against those annoying cliché anime. And for a long period I didn't watch anime at all, only watching some great shows like twd, got and of course I'm a proud yaoi-addict
BUUUT there are still great anime that is worth watching, and I was really glad I had the chance to watch them. Well, I guess I'm a bit late for those anime since i've seen them recently, but I don't regret anything, like Barakamon for exemple which is a PURE GOLD, I didn't suspect any obvious fanservice in it but only great funny characters, this anime is really simple but i thik that it's the reason why I was amazed by it. Please if you haven't watched it yet, do so >-<
This is only one exemple of rare anime that will surely boost your mood and make you smile like an idiot for hours, wll I did...and because anime is the only thing that can bring me so much emotions, I Won't give up on them yet and I hope you won't too!! (=・ω・=)

I still can't give up , because it would be like letting go of a precious childhood memory . I grew up watching Anime and reading Manga . It's kinda like a part of my being . Still , I hope that in future I will find some diamond in the rough-like kind of Manga and Anime and that these popular plots , characters and themes will slowly fade , and better ones will show up (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

This is kind of true, and one of the reasons for which I don't watch Ecchi (I personally tend to think that seuxalising the characters leads mainly to abandoning the real plot and the character developement that I want to see) apart of some exceptions.
There are way too many mangakas jumping on the train of mangas that already were popular and trying to replicate what made them so sought-after.
This is a kind of sad developement, but there are still a lot Animes worth watching and Mangas worth reading, and artists that work on their own content by using their own imagination, starting something totally new, like Death Parade, as an example (which is just an anime that I personally liked very much)
Even if there aren't as many new animes and mangas with great content flooding the internet, there are still enough classic mangas which are worth watching and reading, so I will give that a go.
I would wish for artists to not feel pressured into writing or drawing something cliché to sell it. I tend to think that this industry has to be such a hard place to work in.

Bloody Sparrow September 29, 2016 6:09 am

Yes ! Death Parade was amazing ! I was practically a crying mess at the end . I wonder if there are similar Anime ?
I agree with you , and great example of that are Sword Art Online copies . And let's not forget Kirito's cursed voice (Matsuoka Yoshitsugu) that all male protagonists in these kind of Anime tend to have (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
