Straight romance
Hey guys, so i'm a fujoshi who likes yaoi. Yaoi is the best romance genre ლ(´ڡ`ლ) but sometimes i read yuri too but not too often since my fav romance genre is yaoi. I read yuri because i'm curious why my best friend (a girl, but she already has a boyfriend now) liked my back then. She confessed that she liked me. I was not angry but somewhat confussed and interested. When she confessed, i immeditialy ran and got inside the car and i said "thank you but i'm suprised bro"
But the problem is.... i can't read straight romance! I don't like romance between a girl and a boy ┑(￣Д ￣)┍ kinda boring and dunno .. why i'm not interested in that... When i see a shoujo manga with a hot male, i always sad and say why not bl?? So the hot boy can be together with a cute boy lol (❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~ or whatever the important one is the manga should be boy x boy!!(▰˘◡˘▰)
The problem is, i can read yaoi and yuri but not straight romance??
So I actually have a few reasons why I and to dislike straight romance. 1. In general, media is oversaturated with boy/girl relationships. Almost every book/movie/tv show/etc has some kind of straight romantic subplot, usually underdeveloped and almost always unnecessary. Not that same gender romantic subplots can't ever be forced or unnecessary, b...... reply
So... whats the question/problem here? Many of the people on this website only read Yaoi and/or Yuri, and not Straight manga, myself included. It's alright. Chill. You be you. You do you. If you like only homosexual romances to read, go for it. No ones gonna stop you. Have fun. reply
probably because the straight romance has no much progress in building up their character and become more boring these days. I also feel the same way.
I like catching up the feelings between those boys in yaoi or shounen ai genre even if those things rarely happen in real life. Maybe it's more challenging somehow? but as a fujoshi myself I don't r...... 1 reply
I can read shoujo sometimes, but can't read yuri.
For me, yuri is same thing as you see shoujo manga.
Whenever i tried to look for a yuri, all i found was a girl with big boobs and a girl with little ones (she is always like "look, Sakura's boobs are bigger then mines! TT_TT")

im sorry if its too long i kinda ranted. The reason I'm more into yaoi than shoujo is because I'm a perv.
I like all the sex ლ(´ڡ`ლ), lol. I tried shoujo smut but there isn't much that is actually smutty, and there are way too many rape stories in that genre (although yaoi has that problem too).
But yeah, I can read straight romances, but I rarely do because they're not as satisfy...... reply
Yknow, I kinda in the same boat. I love both yaoi and yuri, but can't handle straight romance at all. tbh I think it's a bit gross xD If you wanted a analytical reason for this, here you go xp

i love reading yaoi, n dislike yuri. but in reality, i am into straight romance. but, to reveal my experience, last year, i had a thought to kiss my roommate while she's sleeping. its really weird. hwever, after she cut her hair like a boy, the thought suddenly lost. thanks god, i became normal again. also, i seem like cant be in any serious relati...... reply
I'm just talking about my case but as I grew older I searched for more mature mangas with maybe more mature subject matters. Personally, whenever I read mature shoujo mangas I feel like its the same stories recycled over and over again...for example, the typical high school romances, The guy is a complete dick to the girl but every girl in the scho...... reply
I was like that for a couple years. Straight romance just got boring when I had yaoi but the last year I've started reading it again. I'm more picky about what I like and don't like in it though. The couple really has to be compatible for me to read multiple volumes of it. reply
