I do think this is a good story overall about redemption however, I felt like the ending of the main character fell a bit flat because he technically did not get redeemed. Like yes, he is now in a point where he can finally face the music, however, finally facing the music does not equal redemption. He has a grown tremendously however, since we seen his growth through the eyes of the other characters finding out that he was suicidal kind of shocking because I don’t remember they’re ever being a hint towards that unless you’re counting the alcoholism being a sign of self-destructive tendencies which you can I guess. However, he is not redeemed. Even if his family rejected him and he keeps living his life, that would be a better redemption story because he is at least attempting to help those who he has hurt.
