Lowkey, from the scene of him telling her not to go to practice, and the devious ass last panel when he says he loves her, I feel like the imbalanced power dynamic is exactly what he was aiming for. Like he thinks so highly of himself that he likes the fact that she likes him and thus wants to keep her on a leash and make her his protege. But she’s definitely down for that, so they’re perfect for each other

That was kind of abrupt lol I enjoyed the premise but I saw some true yandere potential in her that didn’t really get to manifest because he kind of fell in love with her for…. Reminding him of himself when he was younger? Or because she’s obsessed with him? Because she’s young, cute, innocent, and talented? I mean I enjoyed it as a piece of fiction, but as someone who used to be a competitive athlete in an individual sport as well, I can’t think of anything more destined for ruin than having a sexual or romantic relationship with your coach (for various reasons- power dynamics, coach plays a role similar to a mentor/teacher that’s more paternal vs. fraternal, etc). I’ve seen it happen though
