he’s definitely not impotent. he got one of his consorts pregnant twice so that means he has no trouble getting an erection. it could really just be stress. he’s spending so much time with the mc cause he doesn’t have to worry about having sex & bearing her a child. stress could just the problem for him which is honestly understandable given his situation.
I thought that the king was impotent at first but after seeing that the 2nd consort getting pregnant and having miscarriages (though sometimes there are cases where its not really the king's child but from a knight), so he's either impotent or ... his little fishies didn't even bother to finish the race
