i dont know i feel like they both should have died either seperately or together. majority of the manhwa was so grim and there was so much emphasis on the sickening shit the mc went through as he was held captive and i honestly reeally liked the writing of this and the complexities of the characters but the ending just doesnt feel right

i understand theyre both so codependent on each other that i guess?? everything could have been pushed aside and forgotten if it meant they would be together but then i feel like it just doesnt make sense with how much the mc suffered with what the ml did to him, not just objectively but even through his own point of view all throughout the story up until the last chapters

but then the ending kinda frames their rekindling as something extremely optimistic and that they both Immediately just understood and got back together like that, even going as far as to celebrate together in suits at a hotel with wine. even if the mc recalled all that happened to them in highschool, theres no way he could have pushed it aside that fast??

but idont know its almost 8 am and i just finished this with no sleep so maybe im crazy but i really did like the character writing in this and how it showed the complexities of their relationship, just wish it was as grim to the end as it was in the beggining. Gud am

Thanks for the summary. I am relying on how high the rating of this one, for me to start reading but since it seems you summarize this well, I feel like I already know the ending. Lol!

i totally understand your take !! one thing tho, the suits and wine part during the christmas side stories never actually happened it was in dohyuns imagination :)

i really like how the characters were portrayed, i also agree with how it was weird how fast he was moving after he remembered highschool, but i don’t rly think they immediately got back together, they went back and forth a lot, when sungho tried to get back together dohyun pushed him away telling him to go die, then he actually did it and then when he wakes up sungho pushes dohyun away. this was repeated allll the way to the end of the story and they don’t have a conclusive “happily ever after” at the end either.
as for dohyun forgetting everything he went through, he brought it up when he first pushed away sungho calling him a r4pist monster but i agree that it should’ve been brought up more from his perspective!

i feel like they put in a lot of effort moving on from the past hence the continuous back and forth it took them a long time to accept that they can’t just erase everything. i love how the author did this story bc they don’t brush off all of the graphic things done to dohyun. not a way to excuse the mls actions but u can see the constant guilt he was facing and how it affected their relationship progression, they both live in the consequences of their actions, the mc for coercing the ml a lot in highschool and his toxicity, and the ml (obvious reasons). anyways idk why im yapping sm lol im probably js glad i finally pushed myself to finish this bc i kept dropping it, the author executed this story rly well

i thought the wine part was dohyuns fantasy because he missed sungho so much ?
