After reading the novel, idk, I like the ML so much more, here me out. ML had no idea what he felt and how emotions really work because of the way he was raised and all that backstory and at every step of the way he was actually trying ro do introspection and figure things out, he just didn't know where to look. and he was always, always trying to take MC's feelings into consideration. don't get me wrong, still an ass, but mc was in love with him regardless so I'm guessing that was part of the charm, cause you don't hust fall in love with half of someone, and if you do then it's projection not love. anyway, being in his mind and seeing how ML thinks, I got more and more pissed with how MC just constantly assumed how ML felt, "cause he knows him", supposedly, and in his mind never really gave ML a chance to begin with.

What I mean is, MC always went "this is how I feel and I'm sure that's how ML feels, so there's no chance for us i need to give up my love" and all the while ML was like "what the fuck do I feel and what the fuck does MC feel, I have no ideea I just want to stick close"

I mean I like them both, don't get me wrong, it's just bothering me how mc passes as the more righteous one when he too was a coward who never tried to win the love of ml but just assumed things and gave up. (▰˘◡˘▰)
