I think this might be part of the story, but doesn't Sylhan has any power left whatsoever? Like, obviously he's mentally impaired, but I think he should've harness some of the favor he has with the help to do something no? (I'm on chapter 26 and ready to eat my words lol)
I mean, he seemed so powerless in those first few episodes, and I wondered if he really was as devoid of political power as we see, or if he’s capable of winning favor among the servants at Glenberg, for example. However, it’s obvious that his mental illness is truly debilitating :(

oh FR, we do know people still do like him, they even pity his situation but lister is too fucking insane even just looking at Sylhan would make lister put you on the execution list so no one is willing to help except people that are loyal to Sylhan like gjord and ishmion.
