Despite the horrible title, I actually think the author kind of mastered this awful trope. Im surprised I even gave it a chance bc I usually dont even open anything remotely pedo or slave vibes. I didn’t feel disgusted reading this bc you can see how the ML has been obsessed with her long before the present and never insinuates any romantic desire/attraction towards her child form, more like how you look at a puppy, and even when it does seem to slightly cross, it gets addressed by the others and he cringes at the thought (ch14). Kind of gives “would you still love me if I was worm” but he actively keeps in mind who she truly is and that it’s only temporary. The only thing he does do when she is a child is try to give her experiences she missed out on as kid that would be awkward to do as an adult, especially since she lived such a hard life, and even then it’s just giving her nice clothes and food and the family love she couldn’t have. I believe that’s why the author chose her becoming a child vs. an animal is because of her awful childhood and family and the importance of the ML gifting those experiences back.
FL is actually such a strong character, not in the stick thin but can somehow wield a sword and the ML will still save her in distress kind of way, but that she could actually put the ML on her back to climb a mountain and she succeeds due to her own merit, while ML cheers her on (ch50ish).
Its such a fine line between keeping it wholesome and becoming pedo, and it so easy to give one wrong line or action that could screw up everything, but the author does a great job at keeping everything within reasonable bounds and it’s only for a short while she looks like that. It’s still a weird trope that should be wiped off the face of the earth and the story itself does lack in some areas, but it’s a cute manhwa that I think could be given a chance. I literally don’t think any other author could get away with this kind of story.
