Came back here after watching the kdrama that just came out on netflix! I remember reading this manhwa on webtoon many years ago only to just find out that it’s not available there anymore. Tbh I didn’t realise this manga was still ongoing. I kinda forgot abt it after the first few arcs, but after reading about its cancellation online, my interest was piqued again. Naturally, I read the infamous chapter 125 and…. yea it’s exactly as bad as ppl say it is. As per the authors apology, while I get that the intention was to depict racism in Korea particularly with immigrant communities, they failed at this hugely due to its ridiculous portrayal of racial discrimination. Like how does it make sense to have your bad guys be the brown mixed kids bullying Korean students based in South Korea, whilst literally being a homogenous society?? Obvi I do not doubt that discrimination against Koreans doesn’t exist thats not what I’m saying, just that it does not make sense in this cultural context at all. In my opinion, the authors were way too cowardly to make the Koreans be the perpetrators of racism in this storyline despite that being more realistic. Idk if any of this makes sense but yolo
