I'm Korean so I'm learning Korean to better understand my parents/relatives. I can speak conversationally but I want to be able to speak on deeper topics. I'm learning Japanese because It's just such a pretty language. I want to be able to speak in that kind of language too. reply
I started going to intensive Japanese language school in my local university in 2009 after high school as preparation to attend Japan university for engineering degree. i've learned a bit on my own and i'm taking lessons online, but i'm also going to take some classes next year c: so far i've only nailed down the basics like how hirigana, katakana and kanji work and a few phrases, but nothing too big yet. i've also started learning a bit of korean, but not too much. i plan to learn it after i get the hang of japan...... 3 reply

I went to Chinese school on the weekends for about 6-7 years and I stopped about 2-3 years ago, but I still remember how to read and write a lot of the characters. I'm learning Korean, first because I want to, second because I need to. University I'm going to in two years time is in Seoul so I need to be on at least conversational level.
