Comments of Raising a Bat

I really wish this had had a trigger warning... The story is not bad, but very dark (and the guys obvious depression and self harm habits are never talked about). After seeing everyone's comments about how adorable this was (and I found this in a FLUFF recommendations list) I just really wasn't prepared for it. As much as the author was talented at writing, the way she trivialized the abuse, mental health, self harm, and manipulation into story tropes was jarring. I have no problem with authoors using such subjects when they also portray how to get help, how to be healthy. Getting a boyfriend is not the way to fix your mental state, seeing a doctor is. No matter how sweet a partner yours is, you cannot cure depression that way and will only hurt them.

I swear he should have received some professional counseling so this would have ran smoother.

For those of you who are upset over the MC's downward spiral of self destruction, this is as realistic as it gets to healing from trauma. It does not take a single event or talk for a person who has suffered years of unhealthy mental belief to change their thoughts, beliefs and habits overnight. It's one step forward two steps back most of the time. This manga doesn't shy away from it nor glorify it and for that it makes this story all the better.

I didn’t love it, it was a bit too angsty for me. It seemed kinda toxic- it doesn’t matter how sad a backstory they have the relationship was toxic at some points. It was okay, I won’t be rereading.

Hmm the uke is kinda not that good but you cant literally point a finger on him because of the fact about what he had experience from before of course he would definitely have unstable mentality. The top actually do also have problems too he couldn't take a step forward and take risk but you also cant accuse him so easily because this is the first time he had taken interest on someone and the light for a reason that it is not just a first time for love interest but also a friend who would be there for him. Its normal to have this kinds of mindsets if you experienced this situations. The story is well made but i kinda like the special chapters more than the original or actual plot. Love the uniqueness and the art style isn't something so marvellous and glamorous but it is beautifully pleasing it matches the storyline. I like the fluff the way they comfort each other after their fight not like others that if they solved their problems they'll straight up fuck each other but this one is more focused of being soft and cute.

The uke was frustrating in the middle ngl.

i really hate the blonde dude. Min Gyeom is still dealing with a toxic relationship yet he decides to be an asshole (knowing everything that has happened to Min Gyeom).

Honestly the best and most realistic manhwa I've red, i felt to involved in their relationship that I don't know how to feel as well. You can really relate to the characters well and it portrays the both down and up side of relationships. The plot is amazing 10/10 would read again!!

I don't know how to feel, uke is frustrating but makes sense bc of his upbringing but still Aarghhhh and seme was so sweet, he's the reason I kept reading (plus his family are so sweet) idkkk it was a lot, Idk how I feel rn

I think ive already read this a long time ago because the first part was really familiar but i forgot how it ends, still its a great story but really it breaks my heart everytime they fight. I dont blame them for being childish or traumatic or anything, but it makes me really sad to see both of them hurt. At the end theyre happy though, and i am too <3

I hatted the begining and how the uke always ran away from the problems he was facing and the son of a bitch blonde dude was manipulative and annoying throughout the story

Painful reading this. The uke was an idiot and the seme was a pushover. Frustrating all together. I finished this but I really didn't enjoy it at all.

this is overall good, but def won't reread this again. glad it's happy ending too. and wtf with these "the bottom is so naive?" comments. do you aware the trauma he experienced made him have abandonment and attachment issues. "just because his past is crap.." MF that's the fckn problem. even when he turned 19 his life is still crap before he met his partner. min gyeom is one kind of guy when you show him abit of kindness he will attached to you. who tf you think he learned about world? his dead mom? his step mother? his scumbag good for nothing father? he has no one to lean on. i'm glad that mf dad died, but i'm a little dissapointed cuz the author can make him suffering alot before that. same applies to blonde guy, that hoe. that short hair girl should'nt have stayed with that scumbag again. didn't she said he already ruined two people lives? it's annoying bruh.
