This manga had a super interesting plot, characters and the art was gorgeous. There were only two 18+ scenes instead of a usual yaoi with over 30 chapters and countless sex scenes. Because of this the two scenes were so endearing, sexy and helped with their character progression in my opinion! It was amazing.
I have re-read this manga multiple times and each time it never grows old. The plot, art and characters are amazing and heart wrenching at times.
--ended on a low note. Could have been better.
I have loved this story for years. Starting with the anime series, then reading the manga. Sensei's art continues to improve over the years and while I do feel that the plot is becoming recycled I find every new and old chapter to be just as lovable as before.
With each new chapter of this manga I find myself loving Morinaga and Souichi more and more. It has been going strong for over ten years now and I can feel the authors attachment to these characters and story, it makes it all the more endearing.
I haven't had a manga bring me to tears in years. It was sad, but beautiful and ended on a happy note with one one of the most touching end chapters I've seen in a long, long time. Amazing.
Been following for years. This one made me stay up all night just to read the entire series over again from the start. It's always nice to find a series that can do that to you.
I've consistently have reread and enjoyed this manga time and time again, always fall back in love with the characters and will always come back to read each update.
I started this series many years back and came back to it once it had been completed. Was not disappointed! I haven't binged a manga in a while, this one caught me. It's story is good and intriguing. I loved that it focused on issues outside of the main characters/the relationship. It was never boring. I fell in love with the characters. All of them. Beautiful series. 10/10
This series is ongoing but in just 3 vols, it's captured my heart fully and completely. This has been my favorite manga of this year and can't imagine any other series toping it. Even from the concept alone-- a GOOD psychological/horror BL is so hard to find these days. The characters are infectious, you feel their love, sorrow, fear as you progress in the story and it is truly heart wrenching. This is a series that will have you rooting as hard as you can for it's main characters.
The abuse was handled very differently than a lot of BL's, it was both refreshing and hopelessly tragic, a series full of character development and reflection. I loved that we didn't immediately see everyone move past their trauma, but rather a realistic depiction of characters who love each other, but can't move past wrongdoings instantly. This made the resolve all the more heartwarming. Redemption arcs for the antagonist is rarely done as well as it is in Chew & Swallow.
