Complex but intriguing story. If you like historical fiction, then you'll enjoy this. Great character development and appropriate sexual situations. Setting: Early 1900s. Issue: Who is the true heir of the family?
A very moody story about a young, socially withdrawn artist who learns about life and love through his relationship with an older man.
Multiple storylines, complex characters, realistic emotions and behaviour. Story begins in high school and goes into adulthood. Also, there are many side stories.
15 Volumes of brilliant angst. This is my favourite manga. Period. Setting: 1990s
17 Volumes. I believe this manga requires mental/emotional preparation prior to reading it. It's really heavy. Incest (step-father/step-son, step-brothers), rape, murder, drug addiction, prostitution, forced s&m. Whatever traumatic situations you can imagine, it's probably there...Needless to say, it's worth the read. I've read it 2x and getting ready to read it again. Setting: 1980s-1990s
Although broken down into "chapters", each chapter is ~100 pages. So, I think it qualifies. This is another story not for the faint of heart. Incest, rape, murder, prostitution, etc. Seriously twisted, but well worth the read. Setting: Early 1900s
11 Volumes and counting. An enjoyable story. If, however, you are bothered by shota-esque mangas, this might not be the one for you.
5 Volumes, I believe. Fantasy story, dealing with dragons. It's a fun read. Ton of action, drama, suspense and all the good stuff that makes fantasy enjoyable.
8 Volumes and counting. A well-known story. I'm not particularly taken with it, personally. Some play with gender, and deals with supernatural elements.
