I kinda feel you.
Like it was cute but if you stop to think about it with logic its like WTF, but since its a work of fiction...
I think its more or less the same thing with rapes in yaoi.
Maybe bringing up real life in a yoai manga about a vampire romance that has a suicide attempt in it is silly but threatening to kill yourself to force someone to marry you is NOT a good way to start a marriage. In fact it's not a good way to do ANYTHING. Don't get me wrong, I love the story and the parents are super cute but HOLY SHIT I was NOT expecting that and I don't so much care for that aspect of the story.
