"Lick each others wounds" might work in fictional stories like these but not in the real world. In the real world they'd be called a rebound. Can't love someone if you don't love yourself and you definitely can't love someone if you haven't moved on from your past relationship. Your past relationships don't define you and it shouldn't instead of getting upset about it focus on what you've learned from it and avoid making the same mistakes that you did from that past relationship.
