Spoilers if you haven't read Tokyo Ghoul Re (Warning this is my opinion and it's super long, spelling errors will be seen, you can guarantee some butthurt Peeps!!)
Btw, just for this I'm using female pronouns for Mutsuki to make it less confusing.

I understand Mutsuki killed her family, killed small animals, is a crazy yandere for Kaneki and wants to kill Touka, raped Utas kagune, and sometimes goes bat shit crazy and doesn't remember killing.

But I think we need to take into consideration that she was raped and abused by her own father regularly, like Kaneki with his mum and how she abused him. She ended up not being able to take her family anymore and killed them, but not remembering, reminding me of the time Kaneki went crazy and stabbed Banjo in the stomach when he was trying to protect everyone, he didn't realise till a while later. Mustsuki was also kidnapped by Torso (much like Kaneki and Yamori) she couldn't move due to her limbs being chopped off, was beaten by him and had limbs taken off, overall was treated horribly. In my opinion Kaneki and Mutsuki were made to be similar, except Kaneki can control his insanity regularly, and can still act normal, or how he used to be, most likely due to having people helping him along the way. While Mutsuki only really saw Haise as the guidance figure she had. She was already pretty unstable over time, and when Haise left, the only one she had (in her mind) I'm guessing she snapped because Mutsuki didn't have anyone. It's kind of like Mutsuki is another version of Kaneki, but a version of what would of happened to Kaneki if he had no one there for him.

I feel sorry for Mutsuki, and I feel like people overlook all the bad things she's done, but not remember/take into consideration what made her that way, and what's been done to her. I know this doesn't excuse her behaviour in any way, and I agree. I'm just trying to say she's had it pretty bad, a lot worse than others in Tokyo Ghoul Re. She never had a happy childhood or even growing up for that matter, much like Kaneki, but even Kaneki had Hide. He had someone. I feel sorry because right now Mutsuki had no one close to her, and didn't have any friends growing up. Now she has a crazy obsession with Kaneki because he's the only one she had. I'm pretty sure she's gone over the RC cells limit thingy, and can't eat human food or something anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong on this.

I feel like people excuse Kaneki's behaviour because he was abused, tortured and turned into a half ghoul. He has it really bad, probs one of the worst. Mutsuki had the same things happen to her, but she gets so much hate. I dunno, I just feel like even though the same tragedy stuff happens to Mustsuki she's not shown any sympathy at all from the Tokyo Ghoul community.

I personally like Mutsuki, she's not on my top ten favourites, but I like her. I feel like she should get some credit for the way she acts because of what's happened to her, but she gets no sympathy for her torture, abuse and rape...by her own disgusting father....
