why do authors take ''ill kill you'' sentence so lightly? seriously im curious
Cultural thing I guess. In my region, people easily using the i’ll kill you expression in conversation, without the intent to really kill ofc. I’ve seen the phrase is being used a lot in Japan and South Korea as well. In this manga, the phrase represent possessiveness, so I guess it could mean somewhat romantic.

i think they use it as slang....Japanese language really doesn't have much slang ╮(￣▽￣)╭...i heard they use phrases like 'die' or 'I'll kill you' to express their anger.
i think some ppl use such even lovingly in turkish. I've never used them, but there are ppl who do. Guess depends on region as well. Some cultures use it not to take it to heart

I think it is not about culture. The reader has to read and understand the context in which the ‘ill kill you’ was used. For me, i think it was used here under the context of teasing or endearment. Like saying ‘promise me’ or ‘please’ in an indirectly or cute way. Haha. Whatever ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
For me, I think that when he said "I'll kill you", he meant to threaten him to not "Run Away"
My mom and dad are separated since i was a kid but until now they live in the same roof.. My Dad works in a Bank.. He is a Manager. so you could say he is a full-time worker. and my Mom well he doesn't do house chores (which i guess lead them to separate).. it wasn't because my mom didn't like doing house chores but because she wants (and now is) a business woman.. but since my dad is always tired he wants everything to be clean, and everything to be fixed before he gets home then he expects everything to be clean. cause i kinda get him.. seeing your own house in a such a messy state is very frustrating and unsettling. but the question is.. my mom and dad are still together.. i asked my mom why.. and she said that.. ''it isn't love anymore, it's more like being dependent to one another'' cause if you really see it, when you live with someone you love then dependency will also come along, its like a package and this is how i see this manga too, the characters in this manga is how i see my mom and dad,.. where it's not just love anymore but it's also depending on one another.
