Because its really possible if she act either the two. Either she continue being near Athy and Claude (with Lucas supervision) or she leave them be and possibly find the happiness she want somewhere else. I sincerely hope for the latter.
I don't like Jeanette but I don't hate her. If she can't be family with Athy and Claude, I want her to find the happiness she wants, especially one that does not involve royalty. Jeanette is a noble alright, royalty too, but let's be honest, she's not suitable for power play and politics. A peaceful life suits her more.
