Okay so I've just re-read the first few pages -- and somehow I think that what we can see is not the past, but the future of how things will turn out. Law says that he 'created' Jesse, because he didn't have emphaty for him..so maybe he was taking revenge on Jesse for something. As it can be read in some previous topics, there's a probability that Law was the one who had connection to the 'Moritat' project and he is just testing it on Jesse. He was also called "Caise" in the first chapter, idk if it was just a mis-translation, or maybe Jesse isn't even Jesse..? Well I can't say for sure, but it looks like Law can implant memories or halluciations in Jesse, like when Jesse felt pain from the knife (?) he knew that it was reality and that he wasn't dreaming...since Law is that good at handling the moritat, maybe his family, or he himself was the one who invented it and Jesse's family stole it from them and afterwards killed them?
Anyway, this manhwa is great, you can't say anything for sure.. I still think that Law is somekinda psycho and he messes with Jesse, because of some previous events. I don't know how he can manipulate 'reality' that easily, but I think he has to take some risks too, like he starts having nightmares too and maybe he needs to keep track of the time with the burns on his hands, because his mind is being messed with too...?
I don't know but interesting story, looking forward to the next chapters! Ps. What do you guys think about the 0. Chapter? Σ(っ°Д °;)っ
Well at first I thought : oh! She may be right! But then I remembered that when Jesse woke up in the hospital he had flashback about Law before Law threw him from the cliff. ><
But I find your last hypothesis interesting! (About Law using his hand as an ashtray to keep track of the time)
