Could not believe! Selfish Playboy-kun paired with Nice-Naive-kun, turned out to be
such a Cute & Fluffy romance. «●[]●» No fight - No pain, just Lovey-Dovey! (^‿^)/

It's a spin-off, and it would be nice if someone said that earlier.
[SPOILER]
The way he accepted being cheated on really pissed me.

Televised sportscaster, Fukurou, is assigned to cover baseball star and infamous horndog, Shiratori Reiichi, and is shocked to find himself as his lover. As this is in alignment with his feelings, he goes along with it, but there is a deception and broken engagement in Shiratori's past which pulls on him emotionally and he indulges in sex friendships. Will Fukurou ever be able to trust him? The story never gets too down-spirited and there are plenty of amusing moments thanks to rituals like meeting the parents and the usual baseball tropes about homeruns, etc.. As usual, Yamamoto's drawings make the characters seem very young, like boys rather than men, but it's a stylistic quirk, nothing more. A nice, pleasant story about a goodnatured sports reporter.

im glad i read chun chun ga chun first, read it first so you wont be pissed by shiratori so much, because about him and chun fiance thing is not what you think it is. Yet i don't like that he says he only like fukurou_kun for his body.

I want to know timeline between this story and chuchun ga chun. Because in chuchun ga chun Shiratori still struggle to have Chun, right?

    • Anonymous November 25, 2015 6:49 am

yeah in this series chun and that guy are official together and i think the guy is in pro baseball too. I think its a half year gap between the very last events of chuchun, because when chun called out to rei, he said they havent since each other for half a year.

I 'm still confused on the whole "adoption " and "fiancé " ordeal . Is Shiratori just getting his term mixed ? Or is it the translation ? Cause that is very misleading I two completely different directions when he labels or uses them .

    But pretty cute sequel.

    • Anonymous November 21, 2015 2:15 pm

Maybe I'm not understanding your confusion. But I'll try to answer it. Sorry if I didn't get your point.
He said Chuu was his fiancé because he liked him and wanted to take responsibility for "doing him" when he was fourteen (they never did it, but he was in denial).
As he wanted to may him but he was too young, he thought of him as his fiancé. Also he wanted to wait for Chuu graduating from college, if I'm not mistaken.
And the adoption is the way he was going to marry him, because same sex marriage isn't aloud in Japan, so they use it as a legal method to create a connection between the couple and acquired some rights as a family.

    • Anonymous November 21, 2015 2:21 pm

      *marry him.
Also he thought Chuu was his fiancé (I say thought because Chuu always rejected him) because he asked permission from Chuu's father and the latter made an agreement with him (become rich) but Chuu said his father was joking.

Yeah I got that part xD And Homosexual Marriage would be illegal during that time (or maybe still ). It 's just that Shiratori was throwing out that Chun was his fiancé, like the two of them were official even Chun had no say in it or didn 't even know . But the whole I completely forgot about the him going to Chun 's father about it , that would make sense then xD
And also the adoption thing, idk I just thought it was kinda... Not so weird but like I never would of thought of that as another way to have someone you love under your name if Gay marriages were illegal. Ah and since Chun IS technically an Adult where the present manga takes place (they ARE in college right ? and I 'm not sure if 18 is considered an adult in Japan but ), would you still be able to "adopt " someone ?

      Thanks for explaning !

I think they become legal adults at 20.
I don't think it matters if he is an adult or a kid, adoption is allowed.

      You are welcome :)

In japanese society to ensure inheritance and to insure you have a "son" to perform your burial rights you can adopt anyone of any age into the family registry.
Having a male heir is important religiously as I understand it. If a male heir doesnt perform your burial rights you can not pass on? Thats what I have learned from my aunt who lived in Japan for a few years but that might not be the only reason.

In most Asian countries there's no official same sex marriage (yet). So in order for your same sex spouse to have legal family rights (health insurance benefit, inheritance and generally making some bureaucracy related stuff easier) you enters him/her into your family registry or vice versa. I don't know how it works in Japan but in my country it's not that hard to add someone into your family registry.

And in my country you can have your own family registry if you are officially married (however young your age is) or if you are of legal age+have postal address+have reference letter from head of community where you reside.

I see many people criticizing this work...
And now I see that this same author is making another story about baseball player x staff person and it still involves cheating, but in this latter story cheating is like, the worst thing ever...
So huh... Maybe author-san got pretty tough reviews about this work and now is kind of seeking for "redemption" with this new one...
I dont know if Im right, but its suspicious to see the same "formula' in the work of the same author...

To me this relationship was SO one-sided! Getting “married” didn't mean anything, nothing, poof!, just air. Actions talk more than words, and the uke was too forgiving. Come on!! If they cheat on you once, what makes you think he wouldn't do it again, and be all “it was meaningless, so don't leave and don't overreact ”? For the love of– I've seen these so many times in yaoi and it always works to get my blood boiling and disliking the work. This mangaka is amazing, and I love their work but this one I won't let go so easily. Even if is fiction, some sense of respect and maybe making the seme work for the uke could've given this a nice twist. *sigh* Sorry, it's just that this one happened to be the drop that spilled the cup. Oh, just in case: yes sex can be an important part in a relationship, but it SHOULD NOT be the base for a relationship. Not told by me, but experts and personal experiences from others I've known.

Although I agree with you, many people who use your very same argument to validating so called "cheating" in a presumably monogamous relationship. I say presumably because, let's be clear here, societal constructs entail that we have only one mate, though historically and physiologically it differs widely between individual to individual. Sexual compatibility as a start to a relationship is quite common, but is most often recorded as a poor indicator of lasting chemistry. But by the same token, sexual compatibility or having sex with other people could have no correlation to that person's perceived idea of love.

Although an intimate experience for most, there are some indefinitely that are so outwardly expressive with their bodies that it wouldn't seem like a "special" occasion to have sex - likewise, saving one's body for another might also be rather inconsequential to these type of people, who deviate from the standard when it comes to monogamy.

I don't think that this story delved very deep into the notion of sexual activity as being ambiguous to romantic interest, but I do think that is what Reichi's character was going for. There are many tales I can think of that blatantly go for the reverse, where the POINT is that the two individuals clearly laid out their relationship in terms of monogamy, and the whole strife of the story was not dealing with sexual promiscuity as legitimate, but rather watching the suffering of the one who is cheating on, unconsciously enforcing monogamous stereotypes once more.

  11. Shellie September 9, 2015 11:02 pm

I'm usually a fan of this author but I don't like this one. Shiratori was a cheating sleaze bag. And I don't like that the uke just took it. Why would sleeping on the couch be any better. Leave, just leave regardless of whether Shiratori whined and wanted you to stay. And the hell nerve does Shiratori have to keep saying to believe in him?? Based on what??? Im not keen on shitty characters getting a happy ending. Yes, he was hurt over the whole Chun thing but that was his own fault and that does not mean its ok to treat the uke like crap. The uke clearly said, "don't cheat on me", so there's no confusion there. And saying you're the one I love, means jack shit, cheating is still cheating sex friend or not.

    • Shellie September 9, 2015 11:04 pm

      I was a bit mores PO'd than I realized.

I dunno this is a little . . . He really was seeing that chick and that face he made talking to Chun -__- I feel bad for the uke. It was cute but I couldnt feel the love at all!! First off he said he wasnt his type, and said he only liked him cuz they were compatible and TO TOP IT OFF, after declaring that the uke'd have to call him by his first name and about adoption if he hit it or whatever then he got annoyed for some unknown reason i felt like he was mad he won and would have to be called by his first name *sigh I know that wasnt the case but it still was painful to read it i felt like he was settling for the uke and not really in love Dx

Yup, I'm not big on this manga either; the uke really spoiled the seme by accepting his ambiguous actions. As for the scene with the baseball, Fukurou would have to call his name if he got a hit (of any kind). Shiratori was frustrated after, though, because he promised to enter the registries only if he got a home run, but he only got a 3 run hit.
