This story was 100% realistic for the first half when showing the uke's twisted logic of "I won't leave him no matter what. If I just love him enough he'll change." That's definitely a common thought process of many abuse victims. What I don't like however is that in this story the abuser does "change," -magically overnight just because he realizes he loves the uke. This is ridiculous. Either the man is a sociopath in which case he can't change because he's incapable of empathy and love. Or he isn't a sociopath in which case he shouldn't have been able to be THAT violent in the beginning without remorse and horror for his actions.
I mean you don't go from nearly killing everyone you sleep with to suddenly kissing and making love in a gentle way. That man needs a straight jacket and a padded cell. And the uke needs his head examined for staying with him.

This is manga, it doesn't have to be realistic, it's better this way, than for him to be beaten up everyday

    • poop throwing guy February 26, 2015 11:53 am

Way to see things only in black and white! Even in real life you can't just classify such complicated things into two great chunks of baseless generalization no one person is an exact archetype the human psyche is a complicated thing

He had ISSUES BIG TIME all around a brother complex ..?

Ummm ...hmmmm ...squints up at the ceiling ...ummmm ...sighs ...

I mean sure they supposedly kissed and made up in the manga ...BUT ..in real life there only way a person that's bent towards S + M IS Through what we Queers call " rough trade " ---and it doesn't just disappear with a person who repeats they love them ---that the REAL facts

Can tell the authors of this type of manga are CLUELESS ...because they them selves haven't experienced it

    • Mi-chan February 1, 2015 10:43 am

Damn people this is manga and it doesn't have to be realistic and i think author though that it's better to have happy ending and i think it's better this way than for uke to be beaten up everyday

cannot say nothing wrong about his, simply I loved it totally...this is happening in real life though some end up deadho simply cannot give up because they have the hope that one day the person will change, they r hanging up by that even though sometimes deep down that won't ever happen but they simply stay....I don't call that weak nor I can't say it is wrong(every each of us have our way to love)....glad in the manga the guy changed"power of love :)

But in real life they DONT CHANGE! And it's this kind of thinking that gets people killed. I hate that this story reinforces that notion that people can change, especially so easily and quickly like this one did. It's BS

Wow you must be the most all knowing being that has been watching human being since the dawn of time to make such a ridiculous generalization. Newsflash people change all the time if they didn't we wouldn't have correctional facilities for inmates cause they will always be criminals anyway by your logic there wouldn't be rehabilitation facilities cause addicts will always be addicts therapy for the mentally ill would be redundant . Even without these facilities most people adapt to their surroundings every little change in your social and physical ecosystem has a corresponding affect to you and if these affects follow a pattern they will inevitably result in a change within the individual

I'll be completely honest, some may not agree, but this is like the Yaoi-SM version of Twilight. The protagonist falls in love with an abusive upperclassman for reasons I cannot understand. Secondly the protagonist, being the brave, selfless person he is, revolves to stay beside his beloved upperclassman , leading me to conclude that both require immediate psychiatric assistance. Perhaps because I have been reading Yaoi that focuses more on emotional development or of equal level to sex as of late, but this is honestly incredibly unrealistic. Yes, I read all of it and yes, I didn't need to, but I did since I was curious how it would end; a terrible clinche ending, if you were curious.

    • Anonymous February 1, 2015 9:55 am

This is not SM. SM is not randomly beating the crap out of your partner.

Ekkkkkk Uh Oh Oh.... god Thats one twisted seme lol but the ending is nice lol

OMG at one point I couldn't stop the tears from running!!
The seme is a real sociopath, and even though I'm happy that he finally recognized poor Hatsuki for someone totally lovable, I can't help being scared that he'll go berserk again - he's so unstable!! What will happen when he talks to his brother again? Poor Hatsuki, I felt so sorry for him, he looked so unhappy, how he endured all that abuse I don't know! :[

    • Junki December 11, 2014 10:06 am

      got a point there.
maybe mangaka will make sequel out of it lol.

    • Anonymous February 1, 2015 9:58 am

That's exactly the point. In truth he's a ticking time bomb. All it would take is one little misunderstanding -him seeing Hatsuki with another man and thinking he's flirting, or him getting home late one night and the seme thinking he's cheating on him and he'll probably fly into a rage again. Hatsukoi will probably be in and out of the ER regularly for the rest of his life -which probably won't last long because he'll probably kill him during one of his rage sessions probably within a few years of them living together. This is what happens to real life abuse victims, and I hate that this story glamorizes it.

terrible relationship =_= I don't think the ending is cute at all... It rather made me feel worse because I have to wonder when the seme loses it again =P The uke is also totally intimidated and is reluctant to ask for anything or god forbid to complain about something... Also...if I were the cousin I would have called the cops the first time I noticed anything... not encourage something so unhealthy...

    • Junki December 11, 2014 10:07 am

I agree with calling cops part..but hey..this is yaoi manga XD

    • Shadowgirl909 February 22, 2015 3:02 am

      Agree with Junki...

But I think Hazuki is kinda of a masochist , 'cause well , the ending , he said something about asking the guy to clean the house with him and thinking "Maybe he'll get mad" And laughed about it...

If you ask me this manga is so fucked up but still , if someone thinks that what goes in manga , goes in real life , shouldn't read manga at all. You cant get tips to how to live from Manga.

Sorry , didn't mean to preach but my fingers just writes on their own O.O jk but seriously didn't mean to preach.

xD It's okay. To tell the truth, if I took the fucked up things I like to read about in manga as an example for how to live my life I would be one scary individual.
Just this one thing in yaoi annoys me so much. They so often have to force a "happy" ending, no matter how inconsistent it is to the rest. Did the mangaka really have to force a loving relationship in the end? If it was done in a psychological way it could have been a stronger end (sadder too, tho). So I guess I'm not really annoyed at the end itself but at the way it's treated. Just a single person lampshading that this is actually not a happy ending would have been enough for me XD

Eh btw I hope you do not perceive this as a rant (same as you not preaching xD) It's just my view on this manga and I'm not as emotionally invested in this as this long comment may imply ( ̄∇ ̄")

because of love....he will finally start healing slowly. great story

  14. Anonymous November 4, 2014 6:34 pm

So Hazuki was replacement of his brother, and his brother was a plaything for him? Wow! I mean... wow! Watakabe, you are the best! XD

  15. Ade October 5, 2014 11:25 am

i don't know how many times i've read this manga but i would say that even though i don't like those kind of manga where the seme forces the uke, i still like this manga maybe because you could see the story going on in this manga :)

Loving someone who abuse you, who rapes you and kidnaps you.... well, it was awful

    • Anonymous August 12, 2014 3:21 am

I agree it's awful in the least

    • Evilcleo August 12, 2014 4:16 am

      Yet extremely common in yaoi.

    • A August 18, 2014 2:23 am

I think it was better in that there was a very dark theme to the whole story. They didn't lighten it up or make it a ill rape you because i love you thing. It's a shamelessly twisted story. So I liked it albeit with a little shame.

    • se August 29, 2014 3:57 am

partner abuse in homosexual relationships are high too. it's difficult and sad.

    • Elsa September 10, 2014 8:25 pm

@Penny: What you said might be why this story is so good. Like usually these yaoi mangas has this odd feeling like"it would be nice if that happened, but I don't think it will". This story on the other hand takes a hold of a very serious subject, and once the "This wont happen for real...right?" changes to "Oh my god, this does happen!", it's actually very eye opening story. Okay, in many cases the abuse doesn't start right away, but still the feeling parts is highly the same as in this story.

And now when I say the story is good, I mean that it creates emotions, strong emotions and actually makes you think. If a story does that, it goes to my favorite list :)
