What was your first impression of yaoi when you first encountered it?
i Just wanna know. Most people around me says it's disgusting (╬ ̄皿 ̄)凸. I don't understand them obviously lol. Like the first time I discovered yaoi was of a picture of junjou romantica and apparently I found it Hot (was 13 at the time). then automatically got obsessed. like it didn't matter to me that they're both boys. I'm 21 now. And still a certified fujoshi (▰˘◡˘▰)
When I first encountered it I was like "Oh yes," because it was a non-sexual relationship one. But when I got to that (Blood Bank, Royal Servants) I was like "MHM OH YES". Lmao, one of my friends told me Yaoi was awesome so I gave it a try. Now I'm addicted. ヾ(☆▽☆) reply
My friend introduced it to me when i was 14 and koi suru boukun was the first yaoi ova i saw....my virgin brain cudnt handle it neither understand it so she showed me junjou romantica instead....at first i was kinda weirded out but once I saw the sincere love between the characters I started to love it....since im a tomboy who hates girly things an...... 2 reply
Hmm I actually encountered shounen ai first. Yes, I followed the "beginners" path where I opened with shounen ai then went onto yaoi. Anyways, when I first read the shounen ai (Only the Ring Finger Knows. It started as a manga I think but its continued as a novel.) I actually felt kind of uncomfortable, as if what I'm reading is not right. Because ...... reply
I'm a fujoshi. First time I encountered yaoi was after browsing through hentai at 13 (because one of my guy friends found out I love anime/manga and kept on going "do you know hentai???") but didn't like it since I didn't like the girls. I love boys so when I lurked in the internet and found yaoi... well, here I am years later. reply
I have to admit, the first time I figured out what it was, I was like, NO WAY! And I avidly avoided it for the longest time.
Eventually, I stumbled across 'Brothers' by Yamamoto Kotetsuko. I didn't realize what genre it was at first, but I read the whole thing to completion, and I was, like, HUH... And it just went from there.
