while i do think the manga was off course as to what actually transpired in the past, it wasn’t necessarily a bad decision to end this way. i do understand that in another perspective, it insults the hardships that the poor girl had to suffer, but that’s exactly the reason why i think this alternate ending was a good decision. junko couldn’t get her happy ending in her life, can’t we at least give it to her in fiction? evil was still portrayed here, the atrocities they had done to her was still very present, the manga is not downplaying her suffering at all in my opinion. but i do agree that junko is the ONLY victim around here fuck that other guilty kid lmao
