As much as I liked this the part where he said he pitied her so he married her and said it was just angry words as an excuse, I honestly don’t give a fuck bc it prob was the truth or some art of it, half the times ppl yell “angry words” do actually have some truth in them, I can’t get over that part at all, in my opinion he was the prob
Another shitty Harlequin novel where the piece of shit male lead re-claims his mistreated lover because she only thinks using her vagina. This story can get fucked.
This one gave me mixed feelings. I can understand her saying her brother was her only family - it's been her mindset for years - but why did it take so long for him to remind her he was her family now too! It was a real eye opener for her and just one example of the important things that somehow just weren't said between them. He seemed to 'wise up' a great deal in the year she was gone, reflecting on the dynamics of their previous relationship and her subconscious testing, but it didn't seem to make him much wiser when it came to dealing with her. He still let pride rule over his good sense and he doesn't apologize for his heart-shattering gaff (or put 2+2 together and even consider her rebuttal could be purely defensive) until the end... this, in spite of figuring out how insecure she was at her heart. It just seemed, despite everything, he should have had the maturity and intelligence to handle her a little more wisely. If he had, the issue with her brother may have well been different.
