My first Manga

I have no idea why I put this off for so long, it's so great. A biomechanical setting shrouded in mystery, and the artstyle has this satisfying grunge sort of appeal.
God I love this. Loved the characters, the setting, everything is just great. Reading the editor drama I assumed the female characters would be unlikable or something but I adored them, have no idea why others didn't enjoy them. I'll check out Knights of Sidonia next.

Killy is a wanderer in a vast technological wasteland known as the Megastructure. His mission is to find a human with net terminal genes to prevent the collapse of the Netsphere, a virtual realm under control of the Authority. His long, desolate journeys are punctuated by brutal encounters with silicon creatures bent on annihilating humanity; cyborgs intent on infiltrating the Netsphere; and the builders, massive machines that mindlessly add to the chaos of the Megastructure. His only protection is an incredibly powerful gun known as a gravitational beam emitter, which he never hesitates to unleash on his enemies. Will Killy be able to find net terminal genes amidst the scattered human tribes, or is the Netsphere doomed to failure?

This manga was so confusing but it kept me hooked. The visuals were really cool and you had to pay attention to detail to barely understand what's going on. The overall world was just so interesting.

From Wikipedia: Killy, a silent loner possessing an incredibly powerful weapon known as a Gravitational Beam Emitter, wanders a vast technological world known as "The City". He is searching for Net Terminal Genes, a (possibly) extinct genetic marker that allows humans to access the "Netsphere", a sort of computerized control network for The City. The City is an immense volume of artificial structure, separated into massive "floors" by nearly-impenetrable barriers known as "Megastructure". The City is inhabited by scattered human and transhuman tribes as well as hostile cyborgs known as Silicon Life. The Net Terminal Genes appear to be the key to halting the unhindered, chaotic expansion of the Megastructure, as well as a way of stopping the murderous robot horde known as the Safeguard from destroying all of humanity

Blame is an extremely compelling and fascinating piece of work. Killy, the MC, explores a dystopic labyrinth of concrete and steel, facing monstrous creatures with his gun. He searches for the Net Terminal Genes and beyond. It is truly a modernized piece of horror, cyberpunk, and psychological manga. The manga not only intrigues you, but urges you to read more.

I don't really enjoy sci-fi that much but this one is good

Po_and_Dong: "To put it simply, there is a reason Blame is such a renowned cult hit. Its art style is both captivating and horrifying, its story extremely minimal, its atmosphere thick as syrup, and with it Blame has always been seen as a modern classic of cyberpunk and experimental manga. If you are in for something strange and off the beaten path then you will surely enjoy this bizarre and complex piece of cheese."

I couldn't have put it better myself.

Killy is a man of few words. He wanders, seemingly endlessly, through a lonely, gargantuan labyrinth of concrete and steel, fighting off cyborgs and other futuristic nightmares, searching only for something called Net Terminal Genes. And he has a very powerful gun, which he uses without hesitation whenever anything resembling danger rears its ugly head.
Who is this quiet, violent, determined man and what are these Genes he seeks? The small communities he finds tucked into the crevices of this towering, dystopic ruin hardly give him leads on his treasure, driving him to find larger enclaves of civilization where people can reveal more about the world he lives in and the quarry he seeks.
