The stress of a demanding father almost drives the fun-loving Kangjin to take his life. But he is saved by Jungkwon, the class president who excels at everything despite coming from poverty. The boys become bound to one another and fall in love... until Kangjin witnesses Jungkwon's family caught in a shameful moment. The proud Jungkwon cuts ties with Kangjin, and their love unravels. Yet countless heartaches and years later, the two find that life has pulled them back together at a host bar...

Hmmmmmm. Heavy on the drama tag

When I started reading I thought it was going to be jungkwon living a good life and kangjin doing his escort thing and getting into one toxic abusive relationship after another just to find love and they reunite and JK has to try to fix it.

I was SO off. KJ actually found love with Chisoo and I was lowkey rooting for it (insert sobbing emoji).

Honestly things would have been great if JK didn’t get scammed, he would have been doing well with his family and KJ and CS would have been living the happy life I think

I guess this is the best ending we could get where no one ends up with each other and even though in my heart of hearts I still root for CS, I know that it’s more likely they JK and KJ work on themselves, find happiness on their own, and meet years down the line as mature functional adults and get their happy ending

On another note MAN this was so messy like the bar owner couple fucking sucked!!!! Probably my least favorite characters they were so goddamn toxic and all the sleeping around and drugs??? Oooof.

Maybe not a reread for my personal taste

This was so realistic but sad. I really wish there was a different ending than they gave us but it’s very sad realistic. I didn’t like how all that build up lead to basically nothing in the end. Anyways I’ll be on the outlook for the authors newest work if they ever drop any!

honestly really enjoyed every character development & loved that it ended on an open note. it is so much more realistic than expecting blondie to end up with chisoo or brownie bc brownie has his own set of problems. personally loved chisoo since he was the most steadfast and consistent person blondie had in his life but it was probably right person wrong time.

might reread but there’s just so much gore and trauma… once again, everyone needs therapy.

This is legitimately the FIRST time I’ve ever left a comment on here….but binge reading this for the first time and staying up until the damn birds are chirping for THAT ending. Everything went to shit. Everything they did to be together for…this. Chisoo had “potential” but he was a bad person. Kangjin was head over heels for Jungwon but then fell for Chisoo. Like there was just no closure. Nothing. Don’t even get me started on the one character that was wronged the most. ROAH. My boy I needed to see this man be happy but all we got was him spending his bday by himself. Like ok whatever…I would have put up with all of this if I could have at LEAST gotten some sort of closure but there are so many loose ends. Idk if this is bcs the author plans a sequel or second season but until then. My bad rating for this holds.

this was such a good plot and story, I was so into the characters and honestly the end didn’t upset me, I thing it was the great ending ! Not all ending has to be « happy ». But i’ll be a lie if I say that I did expect smtg btw chisoo and he’s bodyguard.

This is beautifully created. I am going to think of the last chapter as part of the episode so I can get the happy ending that I wanted

Honestly, I expected less because of the reviews and comments but I was pleasantly surprised. I love everything in this manhwa: gore, character, their development, relationships, plot and ending. I’m fan of each character because I can relate to these characters. I mean, yeah, I have a school debt but there is no need for me to work 24/7 or work on a sex-work or anything similar. but i do have traumas from past, people i can’t seem to forget and this manhwa brought me strength to move on. actually get over it and move on. i love how they don’t end up together. especially gangster hyun and mc, they obviously love each other but love is like that, sometimes it just doesn’t work out because of the principles or lifestyle. I don’t despise mc also, i guess because i can understand him, in a way that he’s young and he needs to make mistakes to learn and gain experience and be better. that’s why in the beginning he seems despicable and desperate but in the end he transforms into an honest person who wants to work on himself and gain full mental strength (and physical) with independence from other people’s affection. and Jun also needed to go through all that shady part-time job to start valuing his own beliefs and principles. Chisoo is just great. he’s a man. from the beginning till the end. he doesn’t say stuff if he doesn’t mean it and if he says something, he already wrapped up his mind. I mean I love how he falls more and more but in the end chooses something bigger than his own feeling. I personally just adore this type of romanticisation of gangster culture or whatever it is. don’t get me wrong he’s “bad” but at least he knows that he is and at the same time he knows how important his figure is. he can’t just leave every employee who looks up to him and run away. he has responsibilities and he stayed. i loved everything in the story. i will reread it and highly recommend it to read at least once. because it’s not just smut or another pretty romance story. it’s a story about life, maybe exaggerated but that’s why read fiction, right? to experience something we can’t experience in real life but here we can also learn which i love the most
