Ending is a bit rushed and didn't answer so many questions, thought it captured the feelings of the characters and the changing Japanese society

It's wordy and on the one hand, it might be the translation. But it might be that the story is only so so but there are a lot of glanced over things on a story that could have a lot of emotional draw. I feel a little cheated and a little bored.

Well done !!! I'm not particularly fone of historical manga featuring the Showa -Taisho eras ... however, this one is very well done ! The art is beautiful, as expected of Nitta Youka-sensei. The story/plot is interesting, realistic and bittersweet. Kudos !

I would have loved to have seen these lovers in further historical context, such as the invasion of Manchuria by Japan as the precursor to WWII - how they struggled, loved, survived, grew old, it would have made a lovely longer story.
