I dunno if one can ever go wrong with Iraiya-sensei works. I think it's impossible. Not only is the artwork superb, mature, emotive, and passionate, it comes with a terrific story to set up the pace and the atmosphere. You cannot help but be drawn to it. It's very magnetic. I am and will always be a fan. This story is one of my favorites.
