It's not the most terrible thing I have read but it is far from being a masterpiece, being the continuation of Devilman I was super happy while reading this, various aspects of the characters were discovered and it was cool to finally see hell, the plot twists were great too and I'm never going to get tired of seeing Satan, but I have no doubts that if this was not part of a series but instead an standalone story I would have not enjoyed this one bit, there were so many rape scenes that were just plain unnecessary and only worked as a shock factor, and it started getting old real fast. Any psychological insight from the characters about their abuse experiences felt kind of superfluous, it was (kind of) adressed as something horrible that happened to them and that was it.
this was a wonderful sequel, i love how no nagai was able to connect everything together and draw out a final conclusion. only thing i’m unhappy about this manga is the lack of trauma in the rape victims, all females as well , or at least so much lesser trauma than the trauma the characters should have been going through after getting, gang raped or raped continuously. SPOILERS especially when jun ask akira to have sex with her so she can forget the rape she went through.... do you think such “ rape treatment” is logical??
