This is amazing.... I love all this drama and how oh my gosh. This storytelling. I can't believe they made all the characters have flaws yet make them so loveable. You can understand what they're feeling so deeply, it's like this is inspired by a true story instead of a fictional one. It's so realistic. A very STRONG 10/10 for this one. So good. So compelling. Read it all in two sittings.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK DID I JUST READ... THE AMOUNT OF PLOT TWISTS GOOD LORD.. DAMN BRO IDK HOW TO FEEL AFTER BINGE READING IN ONE SITTING THIS CAUSE HONESTLY I CANR ANYMORE. THE PLOT WAS SO COMPLICATED YET I UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING AND THE ART WAS NICE.
[Spoilers ahead] - Shuuji, Haruma, and Reika were all dogs and scum at some point. - Shuuji never got to realize his true feelings for Haruma. - Not sure of the original Japanese text, but in the Korean scanlation of Chapter 7 pg 3, Haruma asked if she will abort the child and Reika shot him down immediately, saying she will definitely have it. Imagine asking if his own child with the person he loves will be aborted (if only he knew then). - Shuuji feels empty inside except when he's with Haruma (his first ever praise singer). - Shuuji felt emptier when he found out he couldn't have a child with Reika. It's such a huge irony that Haruma was able to easily give Reika what Shuuji cannot give her. - For Shuuji, Reika was a useful and convenient wife. It also seems Reika grew on him so he eventually tried to make her happy. Or he's just afraid that he can't measure up to what he got himself into (which is rare). - Shuuji could have been a good and supporting friend to Haruma and could have helped Haruma to become Reika's bf, but he chose not to bec he wants to get Haruma's attention. Since Shuuji thinks that he might lose Haruma to Reika, Shuuji intentionally inserted himself into the picture. - Reika needed someone like Shuuji to heal her previous wound (unwanted pregnancy and abortion). It might be possible for a loving bf (like Haruma could have been, if only they got together in HS) to help heal her wounds, but we'll never know (Haruma is clueless about sex and heavy stuff after all). If only Haruma succeeded in winning Reika in HS, they'd have saved themselves from a lot of heartache. - Shuuji encouraged Reika's dependence on him bec he believed that without Reika, he'd be irrelevant in Haruma's life. Which means, Shuuji eliminated any chance Haruma had on Reika. - It's true that Shuuji inevitably provided Haruma a chance to get close to Reika. - Reika fulfilled Shuuji's last words to the T. - In the end, Shuuji's love for Haruma and Haruma's love for Reika saved them. - When Shuuji was marvelling at how obsessed Yoshiko was with him, it seemed like the mirror of what he wanted from Haruma--to also be obsessed with him. - I like Kai's character very much. He's so empathic. - Reika's and Haruma's "bye bye" panels were so haunting. Reika's dead eyes were also creepy. The art is so good! - Shuuji seems to be a high functioning sociopath. Seems he also has NPD. And he's very envious of and obsessed with Haruma (bec the latter is not an empty shell?). - Ebihara actually helped in making Haruma realize that he needs to get his act together. - Reika was so on point about Haruma's mother. - Miyu being in love with Reika was so unexpected. - Haruma proved to Reika that there wasn't any divine retribution at all (from her previous wound). - Shuuji is such a yandere. Who the heck would make his love interest's love interest his gf and eventually his wife just to secure constant attention from his love interest, all the while not realizing his feelings for his love interest? He's willing to raise a child if it's Haruma's. He's even okay to die if it means Haruma will not forget him out of guilt! Now that is a love without bounds, people! So twisted, though. - Overall, every part of this story feels like it's intentional and well-planned. If this is the first work of the mangaka, it's so well done!
Honestly it's mc x HS crush but I love that childhood friend was obsessed with mc in his own way... Pretty art but I don't actually wanna read this lol
