I also have a theory of my own, I think this might be set in the suicide forest since the human corpses, and how it's normal to see them there and from what the fox says, about the mushrooms as well how they break down the corpses in that forest.
Plus the corpse they showed, is very similar to one I accidentally found on Google from the suicide forest images, they need to take that shit down that's just horrible.

I have a theory. Was all the poison mushroom people who committed not living in the forest?
