Half of it is just those boring elongated "smut" scenes which don't even show anything, I think the author has given herself too much credit here. I'm more interested in the story lol, but it seems like there's none, just an interesting premise

Super complex. If you take stories at face value or don’t read carefully, it’ll be difficult to understand. The illustrator said they took a lot of care with drawing the faces so look carefully and understand that these are all super emotionally nuanced characters just like real humans.
