Comments of Hanakage no Kioku

I read this with an open mind to understand why readers find this either a masterpiece or an utter trash, the ratings was a mess so yeah, HERE'S MY HONEST REVIEW:

Stupid readers have preferences and didnt like how mellow and classic this was written not considering the fact that this was from 2009

Smart readers tho, YOOOO, great taste no shit, this is a fucking MASTERPIECE, a gem, it wont stand out as much cus of how old this is based on but the way it was written, how it ended, short but soulful, cliche now but surely a masterpiece amongst the others back then

They remind me of Eren and Armin

It's good but I think the uke was super stubborn. Seme was a rural nobleman, societal conflict was not really present here. They love each other already. They're master x butler so the uke can simply choose to accept the seme while the seme simply have to be obstinate in getting married and stays as a bachelor till he's old. Why does the seme have to give up his house and property inorder for the uke to accept the seme. It's the uke way of thinking vs. the seme lifestyle. If the seme lifestyle and position as a nobleman is chaotic or toxic then fine, but in this setting I vote that the problem is the uke.

I thought he would not end up with Arthur cuz I kinda liked carel , but it never happens he was just a guy who gave push to them to get them realise especially Arthur that whole time he was keeping Laurent by his side saying he wil destroy these flowers , but as soon carel made Arthur realise his attitude was cruel from the beginning , it's very poetic as always Arthur left his status , nobility and all the wealth behind just so he can be happy with Laurent , it kinda reminds me of painter behind the curtain even though its of 2008 manga , I loved it . It's beautiful.

Why should arthur letting go his house and his land ( TДT) anyway this is good but i feel like the characters had so many sad scene

This story got me like

A master and butler who knew each other since childhood. The butler us in love with plants and flowers, but his master doesn't really get it.
He should have paired with other master who did love flowers... And him. Properly.

A very honest look at what same-sex relationships would have looked like in different social classes during this time period. Although this is in some ways a very sad story it is also beautiful.

Two childhood friends grow closer over the years and fall in love. However their love can't be because his a rich noble while the other is just a servant. The master professed his love but it turned down because The servant doesn't want to mess up his chance and because they are both men. The story ends with the master giving up his title and land to live a simple life with his servant. It's cute but stupid. He could have kept his title and ensured that they both could be taken care of without having to rely on others for a living.

Yeah, it was messy.

Kinda sad but ends well

Edit: I feel like some people in the comments didn't understand the story well... This is a very realistic turbulent love. It isn't black and white as most yaoi tend to be. This is very much gray... a place where you must understand social standing and poor communication can cause huge rifts. There is a comment or two amongst here that explain this in proper detail but I will leave it at this. Give this story a chance if you want a realistic sad story that pulls at your heart and then gives you a happy ending.

Wow what a great story.. the realistic emotions gave my eyes waterfalls.. I'm so happy things worked out in the end though.. his friend really pushed him didn't he. I'm glad.

This was initially in my "intimate reads" after rereading it, I really disliked Laurent. It was unforgivable for Arthur to engage in non-consensual intercourse, and just holding him down because he wanted to express his feelings or whatever. Back to Laurent, I just didn't understand how he could have been so insecure with their status gap, but acted at a whim when inviting Charles like what happened to being a servant? There was a lot of things I wasn't satisfied with.
