Read up to ch73. It was boring. FL was called a doll for her beauty but imo she's a doll in terms of her expressionless face. She doesn't have sex appeal either.
I was intrigued by the title. I absolutely love the FL for leaving his ex fiance. And ML is absolutely green forest. But the story about the ex fiance is dragging amd serve no purpose. I understand about trope of "regret" but I believe his regret story is weird. 1. Duke despised FL as his fiancee for no reason with passion for 10 years. He hated her because she is pretty and look like a doll (seriously??). He hated her because unlike other noble who concealed their emotions, FL showed her emotions openly. He hated her because he thought she was way too clingy and also thought of her as being stupid for loving him. He didn't respect her or particularly believe when she was jealous of duke's friend. For 10 years he neglected her and never took any interest in her, whether she was bullied or not. He even as far as told her that seeing her face is disgusting. FL worked so heart for the dutchy, but he was never grateful. He even sent her engagement annulment. He learned very early on their engagement that she was not well liked as she was born out of wedlock. He also knew she was not treated well by his parents. I mean for 10 years he hated her with burning passion. But then he fucking CRIED over some love letters??? He felt bad when he found out she didn't even have good clothes. He also been informed by the butler that lady eustache was the one who bullying FL but he never stood up for her. Now FL left him, he as far as to follow FL to new country so he can be near her?? That's absurd. I understand the feeling of regret for mistreating her. But it's like he suddenly love her is so weird. His hatred towards FL is deep rooted for 10 years because he felt forced to engagement to someone he dislike even before he was born. How could feeling regret could even lead to obsession toward FL??? It's absolutely enigma. I understand he hated her for being clingy. I also will hate it if someone I don't like keep pestering their love on me. I will regret it because I have been mistreating them, but I might want to atone my sins by helping them or stay out of their way as to not make them uncomfortable, I mean, my present could remind them of their dark time. And how is it the duke was shocked by the annulment when he was the one who sign the annulment first. It's beyond weird.
their development is progressing so GOOD. they're learning to love again even if they're scared which is SUCH a beautiful thing. they want to love each other but their past keeps preventing them from taking that next step. and then when arendt said "i'm happy and miserable" WHEN I TELL YOU I ALMOST SHED A TEAR. and her ex witash or whiplash or whatever the fuck, you're trash pookie, now book it. | edit: SHE LOVES HIM AHHHHHH, but if that was the end it was a bit rushed LMAO
So im at 30-35 chapters in ish and i was at first attracted for angst but the beginning is slow, the art is good but the expressions and poses are stiff, it doesn't convey much emotion BUT
I got a little bit impatient and looked at some of the recent chapters, the pace seems to have improved (tho still slow, seriously, apart from some characters, i still got the gist of the story and it didn't feel like mc and ml's reltionship improved much which is depressing 50 chapters later, unless im mistaken), the reading was so much more enjoyable, HUGE improvement, still too much time to dedicate to the 704th similar webtoon where i can guess what the ending is, i think the story is still good.
